We had a great weekend... a commemorative cricket match in memory of my stepdad at Aldenham school....... nice to be back in the area too....
Yesterday a letter addressed to the occupier of one of the other 2 flats in the building I live, both of which are unoccupied, arrived. It was one I had sent "return to sender" last week! It was from TV licensing, and hadn't even left the island after I "returned" it as it has a Jersey Post postmark!
We were on holiday in Ventnor in 1966 during the World Cup, I clearly remember watching the final and then going out to climb on the rocks nearby where we were staying - even at 8, I found football on TV a bit boring!
Cheers ... my mum was worrying about it for weeks.. and had a stellar time seeing family and friends...
We had a memorial for my aunt a few months back and it was brilliant - once you've had time to come to terms with the loss (relatively speaking of course as you may neevr truly do so) there's something really quite uplifting about properly celebrating the life. And, as you say, it's great to see family and friends again.
Good morning all from a stifling Weston-super-Mare! Still suffering from this flu-like bug so I may go missing now and then as I sleep in my chair! Have a good day!
Morning all from an overcast but muggy West West London - I am doing OK in the office WC prediction league, in the top five with 69 points!
Morning all from a cooler rural part of France. I will have little excuse for not getting on with some jobs that have been lined up for me.
