50k a week, I don't think we've missed out. He hasn't played much premier league football recently. He's not a 50k a week player for me. Not fussed really.
Apparently so! You never know! Lescott is coup for us, not fee for the player just his wages with a relegation clause. We've got rid of a lot of dead wood and free'd up some wages. We are happy with it.
Very good signing for you lot imo, well worth £50k a week since there was no fee involved and 2 years is about right. He probably has about that left at the top of his game.
Fair do's If you're happy(Lescott), Just a shame to see him still getting more than he's worth. Decent enough defender but I don't think he's ever been worth more than 40k a week, now he's in his early 30's I wouldn't have offered more than 30k a week so we wouldn't have got him anyway had I been in charge
Good player, and 50k is lower than I envisaged he'd demand Can't believe Long and Jelavic are on 60k mind!!!!
They've paid no transfer fee, so it's a great deal for them. Oh and if that means Curtis Davies is on his way out, I hope to god it's not to us. He reminds me of bramble, might have a couple good seasons, but will always return to his liability ways.
Its our local rag spreading the 60K a week rumour, probs a load of ballucks! as I can't see it myself. Davies was brilliant last season, we are just hoping with Lescott coming in, hes not going the other way. With Snodgrass deal close & possibly Ince coming in, we look well strengthened for both Prem & Europa League
I know they paid no fee, I don't buy this ****e about supplementing players wages because they were free. Surely such 'generosity' would be represented in the signing on fee, not the wages. Include it in the wages then you're over paying the player and risk not being able to move him on. Using Lescott as a hypothetical example and nothing more, 50k wages for a player who's spent a lot of his prime age on the bench, now in his 30s suddenly is expected to play 30+ 90minute premier league games a season, if that doesn't work they're stuck with him year two because his wages were foolishly supplemented and nobody is willing to match them and he won't take a pay cut. This Supplementing wages thing is the most idiotic idea in football and damn right dangerous for any club who'll be in and about the relegation zone.
Id believe it mate, this was the same Bruce that had Larsson/Vaughan/Gardner collecting 100k+ a week between them
Hell of a signing, and one we should have tried for. Fair play to Hull, that's a superb signing for them.
