Will post any reactions from the club as and when.

Thoughts? Will we win with ease or be knocked out early as per usual.

Gives us a better than average chance of progressing to Round 2, something we have regurlarly failed miserably to do over the last decade.

We'll probably not turn up and get beat 2-0. Pointless looking to round 2 when you support city <laugh>

League Two test at Ashton Gate for City.

Steve Cotterill declared himself pleased with City’s home draw in the Capital One Cup first round draw.

Sky Bet League Two side Oxford United will provide the opposition at Ashton Gate, following this morning’s round one draw.

The match will be played in the week commencing August 11th, days after the opening fixture of the Sky Bet League One season.

And Cotterill told bcfc.co.uk: “It’s nice to be at home. You always want to play on your own patch in cup competitions wherever possible so this is a welcome draw.

“It will give the players a chance to get used to the new pitch and we’ll be looking to go out and get the win.

“Of course we’ll give Oxford respect; they had a good season last term and have decent players.

“But we want to progress in the competition because you never know where a cup run can take you.”

A decent draw for us - being at home is the main thing

Don't think it will be a tv game - probably the Dons v Dons game?
