    USA's midfield was quality.

Well done USA. Defended very well and I really thought Ghana would go on and win that after they equalised.

Ghana was the more talented team by far, but looked horribly unorganized. Surprisingly, our defense actually did look organized for once.

Ghana were beating Beasley down the right consistently but then putting in horrible crosses. Either way off target or floated which is right up Besler's alley. They started drilling their crosses and cutting inside a bit more in the second half and looked more dangerous but they really should have scored 2 or 3. And their defense was woeful. Against the US they were not tested much, but Germany will rip them apart.

I did not think the US looked that good, but then... we're not that good. Bradley had a disappointing game. Other than that though, I thought everyone put in a good shift. That is probably about as good as we can play. Quality header from Brooks, but he should not have been that open. Also terrible defending to allow Dempsey to beat two men on what was initially not that dangerous a situation, though Dempsey still does have a touch of class and put it on display there.

Yeah, so awful defending and lack of ideas in the final third allowed us to steal one. Ghana dominated possession but it would be kind of hard to say they actually deserved a win.

I think we (I'm also from the States) are better than you're giving us credit for. Our biggest issues ion our performance today was the Altidorr injury and Bradley having one of his worst games in the Stars and Stripes. Our attack is based around those 2 players, and when Altidore went off injured we have no like for like replacements. We don't have a player who can hold the ball up and help maintain possession. The two players that could do that didn't make the 23. (Donavon and Boyd, albeit in completely different styles). Tactically I think Jurgen set us up to defend deep and not give Ghana the oppurtunity to hit us on the break with their pace. Now that Altidore is likely out for the rest of the tournament, the decision to leave Donavon at home seems like a bigger mistake that it already was.

Anyways 3 points, and any result against Portugal will probably carry us into the last 16.

Phil Neville's a million times worse than Savage. At least Savage creates debate and is entertaining. Phil Neville is so boring to listen to.

Just watched the second half, another cracking game! I only wish that England for all our lack of talent, showed the same grit and camaraderie of the USA.

Gah I had a bet on 2-1 to Ghana. Got excited when I saw the score then realised it was the wrong way round :(
