Ghana are absolutely dire. Shockingly bad. All this Pulisball but the worst delivery I've ever seen time after time. They've some class players with real technical ability, they could easily play through the USA but they continue trying to Pulis it to absolutely zero effect.
That was a good half. Can tell both teams want the 3 points. If only Ghana had a decent crosser, they might have made a few more chances.
There's a sight more life about them than there was about the Nigerians earlier. But I agree they're not fulfilling their potential.
I'm quite enjoying Henry as a pundit, never liked him before really but as a pundit he makes good points and is funny with it.
The bench, same as Essien. The BBC is just light years ahead of ITV, isn't it? Apart from Shearer maybe.
I don't mind Shearer either really. I don't expect them to be scientists about it I just want them to point out and highlight things which you might not otherwise notice watching it as a fan. Shearer does that.
Seedorf is class. Worth watching the BBC coverage for him. I wonder how irritated Cannavaro & Viera are with Chiles.
Think you've been quite good at counter attacking them. Just need to do better with your finishing. Defensively, it's been quite comfortable. You've got bodies around their strikers whenever balls come into the box & they can't do much with it. If Ghana keep on going down the right hand side you'll defend the lead with ease.
You could leave your players in the tunnel and stick a road cone in goal and I still don't think they'd manage to hit a shot on target judging by what I've seen.
Could this be a watershed for African national football? The past 30 years there has been so much expectation that the next World Cup will be when an African team make it. However this time round there are more African players playing for top clubs yet the performance of Nigeria was proper shi*ty and Ghana look poor in the final third. Could this be the year African football takes 3 steps back instead of the strides they've made in previous competitions? might be talking sh*t like though?
