I wouldn't, Gallagher with premier league experience, he is tall and quick and also doesn't have the injury problems that Afobe does. Gallagher over Afobe for me every time.
Much easier to break though at Southampton than it is to break though at arsenal plus I doubt he would have even got a chance had osvaldo not gone.
I cannot see either of them joining us. Just feel that it is really unlikely as they are two players with big futures. However I didn't believe we would sign someone like Josh Pritchard so maybe times are changing for us and we are able to attract these types of players in order to develop further.
Seeing as things have got a bit quite recently I had a look around and I've seen us linked with two strikers (although I must point out its on a site that can never really be trusted as anyone can post what they want on there) Anyway the two are JP Pitman and Billy Paynter, don't really think we will sign either as Paynter seems to be based in Yorkshire and would be unlikely to want to move down but at 29 he may need to take what he can get as he hasn't really been in form over the last few years, would like to see a bit of experience added to the forward line now Bayo is gone. Pitman was probably only linked with us because Hessy tried to sign him when he went to Crawley but since then he only played a handful of games for Wycombe this year, wouldn't mind him if we were literally paying him peanuts. Know that this is so unlikely but thought I would alert people to it if they didn't already know! Would quite like some players who have played at this level before rather than just youngsters (like to see some youth but some grit and knowledge added to the squad). Taylor said he wanted to be done in the market by the 1st so expect a busy end of the week but wouldn't be too shocked to see neither Pitman or Paynter arrive!
Painter did play for Southend a few years ago, so probably not averse to going where his football takes him. Taylor signed J.P Pitt man when he was at Wycombe so can see a possible connection there. Neither seem to have been particularly prolific, but Paynter has been playing at a higher level than us for the last five years, and was quite decent at Swindon, but not done much since . Another story on FR site is that we are going to sign Billy Kee. I can't find out if he's still under contract at Burton though, in which case a fee would probably have to be paid, IF the rumour is true. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jon-Paul_Pittman http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Paynter http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Kee
Izale Mcleod signs for Crawley Town. Febian Brandy released by Sheffield halway through a 2 year contract. (BBC Sport_
Billy Kee is on a two year contract at Burton so as we would have to pay a fee, I doubt that one will happen. I might be wrong about him still being on a long deal. I think he would be good for us
Gillingham 66 who seems to have quite a good record on football rumours site says we are going to sign Fabian Brandy.I wouldn't mind him as I think the way he plays he would create a lot of chances for cody and keds
You've got to think that Brandy will head back to Walsall as he was signed from there and finished the year on loan back with them. Maybe he might fancy a move away and get a fresh start but cant see it happening though.
No I can't really see him moving south. He's always been in the Midlands/North, so I doubt we'll get him
Well! Paynter has completed a move to Carlisle whilst Brandy has paired up with our rotund pal Evans in Rotherham. If PT is holding true to his 01/07/14 prediction, Monday should be circled in the calendar.
No, neither can I now. That rumour about Gallagher started before the new manager started at Southampton , and as Gallagher been on the verges of the first team, the manager will probably want to look at him before making a decision
Another rumour from football rumours. We're apparently chatting to Nathan Delfouneso, he's been released by Villa and didn't do fantastically at Coventry on loan last season. That said, Cody wasn't used to his utmost there either, perhaps this signing could prove to be a bit of a coup. If there's a y substance to it.
