Born and raised in Shincliffe and Bowburn,County Durham. Moved to Brighton about 20 years ago then Worthing now in suburban Haywards Heath West Sussex. Would love to go and move to somewhere hot and exciting like Dubai but the wife has no intentions to move away.
Unfortunately not been anywhere exotic apart from Singapore lately, been working off of Barrow Island... which is full of nodding donkeys, is a A-Class reserve so you cant go anywhere on it, and is barren with nothing but lizards and bugs. Trying to get them to send me somewhere exotic... like Sunderland for the first home game of the season! Hows things with you Joe? I havent been able to get on here much, been too damn busy Always good to catch up on the craic with you lads tho! Yeah mate, dad was in the patch, so I was an oil brat growing up. Then I turned into an oil man myself, so travel around some more. Getting alot of Asia tho, trying for Europe and South America now. Had enough of rice and noodles haha.
Where abouts do you live in Townsville? Im living in Annandale, been here for 3 months now. Born and raised in Sunderland, about 3 years ago decided to travel Asia, New Zealand and Australia. Met my girlfriend in Brisbane 11 months ago (I worked with her). We both went to Sunderland over this Christmas and stopped for 3 months. She didn't like the weather to much, but thought the people were awesome. I will only go back every so often for a few weeks to see family, but no I wouldn't move back. Living is better here, only downside football is sh**e here. Got f**king Emile Heskey and Damian Duff as the best players.
Return to Sunderland? Only if i ever had a **** load of money, then i think i'd open a Thai restaurant, sure i could make a go off that. Plus as being born in Fulwell, i'd only live either there or Seaburn
Working on a reserve for two months about 2 hours drive north or Durban, can't say exactly where due to protective species etc. Pretty awesome out here I must admit, only downside is I can only banter with a rangers fan!
Shiney Row, and Penshaw. The old fella's family were all from Sunderland, he used to take me to his sister's when home matches were on when I was a kid. His sister lived above the little shop just outside the Fulwell end. It was sort of bred into me. In sunny Stavanger now, then off to Thailand when I retire sometime this year
Nowt really mate, it's hard to tell where Roker ends and Fulwell starts, it's a bit of a wavy border.
Born in South Shields, first house in Cleadon, moved to Chester when I was a kid and then to Epsom in 1979. Went to London University and have worked down here ever since. Wife from Kent, so I doubt I'll be moving up to the NE anytime soon. A move North of the M25 would help a lot though!
Born at Shotley Bridge and lived at Allendale Cottages 'til the pits closed and we were hoyed out so they could pull it down. Lived in the south of France for donkey's, lived the high life & got away with absolute murder. Never thought I'd leave but something changed after last summer and I'm 'home' now, although it's Mansfield. Everything feels dead right and I have my sons, mates and SAFC on my doorstep. Sunderland have been the one constant, over the last 50 years, and I can now get to almost every game. I'll finish my days in Durham and be buried there ....... I love it more than anywhere I've ever been.
Born and raised in Sunderland, then work has taken me to Liverpool, London, Guildford, Gateshead, and now in Oxford. All my family are still in Sunderland, so get up there quite often, but only manage about 4 home games a season depending. Managed to go back for a couple of years but work moves around too much to get roots at the minute. Loving Oxford, but I'll be ****ed if there's a place in England that has two footy teams and still couldn't give a **** about football in general!
Living in Los Angeles. Born in Boldon and moved to Cleadon. School in Seaham. Played for Ryhope, Murton, Evenwood, Ferryhill, Crook and Whitley Bay. Yeah more clubs than Gary Player. Also, played in Germany and Mexico. Sunderland is my passion. When I go back stay with my sis in Penshaw and get to SOL. Struggle with the weather going back. Remember the North Sea wind blowing up the shorts....jeez that used to freeze the nuts.
Travelling the world heading to South America and ended up in the Sunshine State of Australia, Brisbane working... WTF..... Back In August for a 2 months holiday after 5 years away, great that I'll get a few Premiership games in (Not Championship); hopefully with the fixtures out tomorrow we get the Mags early (first game at home would be nice).. and a few big boys too....
Just been thinking Comm. You know where the Cambridge pub is. Fulwell Rd. joins Roker Baths Rd., just up from the pie shop. I'm guessing that's the border?
Born in South Shields (co.Durham) Raised in Jarrow (God's country) Living and working in Northern Poland (in the past lived in Manchester, London and Derby) Sandy through and through and hate anybody from Co.Durham who supports the Mags. It's akin to a Yorkshire lad supporting Man Utd.
