Its disgusting, they wouldn't be doing it if it was Steven Gerrard, i can guarantee you that. Rooney was asked to play out of position against Italy last night, you play him there, you expect a crap performance its as simple as that, and people wonder why United fans don't like England fans, they burnt effigies in 1998 when David Beckham got sent off and sent him death threats as well.

People should be supporting Rooney not having a go at him all the time.

 

Fact is, Rooney isn't good enough for England. He doesn't have the savvy to read & adapt quickly enough.

Matth, England do not have a World class player at present, but on a brighter note it looks like we could have 3 or 4 in the next few years.

England don't have any world class players, the last one being Ashley Cole. And yet for the first time in a long time, without having any world class players, they look the best they ever have in a feck of a long time.

I very nearly made that point about Cole being the last one Cole, Terry, Ferdinand, Scholes and Shearer being the last ones i could think of.

And who is the team is good enough for England? If the top scorer in qualifiers is not good enough for the country, then who is? Personally, I find the English attitude very odd. Why was Shearer being so critical of Rooney? He was speaking as though he had never played the game of football to know that the very best of strikers miss. Even Henry pulled him up on that.

The fact of the matter is that many players played poorly for England. And top of that list is Gerrard. But hey, no one would ever criticize him.
