I couldn't imagine not being able to hear all of the beautiful music in the world. Imagine a world without Beethoven or Bach. Imagine not being able to hear the wonderful music of people like John Coltrane.
Many many people do not care for TV. They prefer music, Radio and to get the rest of their entertainment online.
Giving up TV is a piece of cake. Often do it 2-3 times a year. Just yank the plug out the wall, and EASILY do without the idiot box in the corner. Radio would be a FAR bigger loss Having said that, and to go back to the OP, the answer is I would rather lose my hearing before my sight. Every time
Music can be a powerful trigger to a memory long forgotten. People associate music with events in their lives and a single song can bring those memories back. You don't get that same trigger from TV shows or movies. It would be too hard to give up music for that reason.
You bloody did! Some sensible answers from non TV drones. I sometimes leave the TV for a few weeks at a time myself bar the football. You get the odd decent docu on like the one on 5 last night about that English guy who was the first to trek the Amazon. Amazing stuff. 99% of TV is complete rehashed tripe.
i might point out though that there are many amazing things on earth to see that are not tv. although they could show them there.
Ain't that the truth. I don't have Sky so all I get are Soaps and Reality TV so I rarely watch the TV. The only things I watch are football when it's on, the GAA championship, and any good traditional music that would be on TnaG. And the news, I almost forgot about that.
