I had a go! And I'll admit it! Absolutely knackering, downright dangerous at times if you don't concentrate and good way to mix a cardio vascular work out with real ale! Yes, the costumes are faintly ridiculous but that's tradition for you. Don't mock it until you've tried it! No I don't partake... I rapidly discovered that I have two very left feet.
I don't but I have met some, and those I have met are all friendly and really enjoy doing it. Although a combination of archaeologists and Morris men led the pub to run out of real ale which wasn't so great
Was a left back for Little Furze and Oakview Juniors... and I am left footed... I'd come reasonably priced too, my agent... Is that a ???
Your hired! report for pre season fitness training tomorrow 8am sharp.................................
I don't dance but have played music for morris for past 25 years because Mrs GG took up dancing. Had some great times. Lots of beer, lots of travelling, lots of friends all over the country. There was a big revival of morris in the 70's and 80's, 20-30 year-olds starting new sides. This means a lot of us are now in getting to the point where we're looking for the next generation to come on line, and despite what you may think, there's plenty of exciting new blood. One example for you- Dog Rose- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3q0FmHb4FQ but lots of teens/20's doing it. OK I'm outed. I also play in a couple of ceilidh bands, have played festivals etc all over the UK and in France, Germany & Belgium. There, now you know.
