I feel we'll get out the group then it's luck of the draw.

We'll probably draw against Italy.. neither will want to lose the first game. Then think we'll beat both the others. Urugauy are a good team but, take out Suarez and Cavani and the rest of the team is distinctly average. They're like United. A couple of decent attackers but the rest are old and don't have much energy with a bit of a shaky defence.

  2. We won't beat Italy, Uruguay will batter us and we'll scrape a win against Costa Rica. Italy will finish ahead of us on GD

The Olympics showed Uruguay as not that good but it was only u23, then there was thier qualifying and then there's old man forlan and finally there's the whole are Italy any good

My thoughts are the time if the draw were three 0-0 and home but you never know with a bit of pace and sturridge and sterling can give that

I really hope tomorrow is lampard slats game for England bar a 119th min sub for pens

From the look of things England would need a miracle to go beyond the group stage

England poor IMO stats don't lie they had more possession and the team seek on was bollox from the outset

We set up in a quasi 4231 but in effect it was 451 with welbeck as our striker.... Utter nuts.

Half paced game which suited Italy and really cautious to boot

Oh no there's too many lfc scape goats for Rooney to get the blame

I think Roy hodgson is mad to pick welbeck at all never mind relegate sturridge to rw to accommodate

Defensive, conservative, leg draining tactics which back fired

Italy are not good let's not fall for that uraguay are average at best.... Costa Rica???? C'mon

England 4th is on here... I though 3 draws but we failed to even achieve a point though most think we deserved one!

Welbeck was fine. One of the better players, albeit played a little safe.

Gerrard was the worst player on the pitch. Not entirely his own fault but he was the worst by far.

Rooney though, well he did do more than 10 other englabd players despite playing out of position as a defensive winger. He was ok and of course set up the goal.

Welbeck was good, only sterling was better than him first half.

Gerrard wasn't great but was far from the worse. Sorry but anyone who says anything other than Rooney being the worse wasn't watching the match. Ignore the cross, he offered nothing. Nothing else in terms of build up play, no defensive duties at all.

    Lol.

It was hard to tell if steve was in brazil he dis so little. Can you do less than nothing? Steve tried his best to test out the theory.

As i said, it wasnt his fault entirely but lets not pretend otherwise.

And lets not play a game of revisionism here, rooney was olayed out of position yet had the second biggest impact of all england players. He was by no means top class and nobody is suggesting that but he contributed more than everyone but sturridge and when he came more central he looked much better.

Gerrard was in his favourite role, alongside a team mate from his club, surrounded by his liverpool pals yet produced that pile of ****e? Lol.

Nothing bitter about it and i have stated why steve and henderson were lambs to the slaughter.

So making a contribution to a team means scoring or creating a goal?

    Hart contributed nothing then?

Just because he put 1 cross on, doesn't mean he contributed more. His defensive display was so bad it made that one positive into a negative.

I said Gerrard and Henderson weren't great but they were obviously told to sit back and put no pressure until Italy get into our half. If that's the way Roy wants to play then you won't get the best out of them 2.

Rooneys job whether he liked it or not was to support the attack and defence in the same way Welbeck did. Unfortunately he only did half that job, and even that half wasn't very involved apart from 1 cross, 1 miss, 1 pour touch with the goal gaping from a corner and taking the ball of Barkley to then spoon over. Oh and his wonderful corner of course <laugh>

Even Aspas would have been embarrassed with that one <whistle>

What a pile of **** this nonsense is.

So gerraed and henderson can be excused as they had to do as they were told but rooney, played miles out of position as a defensive winger should have done better tracking his man?

    Riggggghhhhhhtttttt.....

So tell me, who does bettwr playing so far out of position?

Also tell me which other country plays their best player out of position? Did pirlo play centerback? Rvp played in goal didnt he? Im sure messi will be the right back for argentina...

Barkley had all but lost the ball btw. So nothing was coming of that run in all honesty.

Its clear that for some, rooney is judged on different standards. If all are judged fairly we woyldnt be having this discussion.
