Report from Sky that Pompey had agreed with Bournemouth for Pearce! Good news for Pompey, Bad news for Axe! lol
Mokoena will still play Unless we sign (along with Pearce) Halford + another centre back, a left back, and a defender that can play anywhere along the back 4, Mokoena will definately start.
Got to disagree. Reckon Cotts will get rid after the farce this week with him. I thought he was pretty decent, but he's not popular for him, and if we can get a fee for him then we'd be silly not to sell.
In our postion, unless the player is banging on the exit door, we can't afford to sell anybody. We only have a 10 man squad at the moment. Untill we have a squad of 18+, then none should expect to leave. Assuming Varney signs, I'd expect the team to look like this: -------------------Ashdown--------------- Ward---------Pearce---Mokoena---Rocha ------Lawrence-----Norris------Mullins------ --------------------Kanu--------------------- --------------Kitson----Varney--------------- With the imminent arrival of Halford too, I'd expect something more like this: ---------------Ashdown--------------- Halford---Pearce---Mokoena---Rocha Ward-----Norris-----Mullins---Lawrence ----------Kanu*----Varney--------------- *Kitson Not too bad
we need a left back push rocha in the middle and take out mok's i would like cruise from arsnal bu probbibly a few in for him!
I think it will be few more to come just like waiting for a bus and the few buses turn up! When I looked at other website - The News (The Pompey Pages), lots of moaning about why Pompey didn't sign anyone in last few weeks etc..... I think it is good that Pompey take lots of time doing homework on how to improve things around and getting right players rather than rushing around and sign many players, and then didn't work out, we don't want to go down with Sou*cough*ton next year do we? I think we finally got right owner for change but too early to call, just a feeling. About time I feel good about Pompey after couple of years, look at my head... where's all my hair gone!
He was fantastic for us this year............... Played everygame and the only time he didnt play was when he got sent off against Huddersfield.....
Truthfully? totally........not the qucikest mind but more of a John Terry type in the way that his reading of the game is immense, and anticipates things so well, and would put his head on the line. Sad to see him go but good luck to him.. any idea on the price?
Knowing Pompey, as cheap as possible ! Do hope you can win promotion this coming season - thought you were extremely unlucky in your match against Huddersfield in the play-offs. Lee Bradbury seems to be doing a good job for you, following on from where Eddie Howe left off. Good old Isle of Wight lad, like Shaun Cooper !
Sky Sports have quoted the figure of £300,000 for Pearce.......so the gross value for him would have been £600,000 as we would have waived the 50% sell on clause. Not bad business! Lets just hope he is up to standard!
