That's a loss. Like Beckham said the other day, Rooney is more then scoring goals, play in up front, he would track back, help the defense and he would not only score goals but he would assist goals as well. more a striker, he got more then 15 assist last season and our top scorer despite missing lot of games. no one recognises his hard work and straight away jumps on him. He's alwats the scapegoat for England failures.

Gerrard who played on his best position was just as bad as him but no one seems to see that.

i think Lampard should of played yesterday

All the talk about the heat and humidity and there is Rooney wearing two layers with a long-sleeved undershirt. That must affect his energy levels, so why does he do that. Stupid if you ask me.

Give the victim mentality a rest... I've seen plenty of threads on all boards slating Gerrard. Doesn't stop Rooney being anonymous though.

I'd say on yesterday's performances Welbeck should start over Rooney; Lallana over Wilshere. Keep Baines, as he looked better when the left-footed (and defensively-sound) Lallana came on.

im not only talking about threads mate, i'm talking about media as well. Look at bbc and sky sports, all about wazza and slating Rooney and whther he should start next game but not at one point, it mentioned Gerrard's bad performance. all the focus is on Rooney's performance.

Gerrard and Rooney ain't the only one who had a bad game yesterday but i mentioned Gerrard because there's alot of scousers here slating Rooney thats why.

1 great cross was all he did. Could someone else have done that? Probably. His team-contribution (that cross, aside) was lacking. Welbeck, by the way, was superb. Credit where it's due.

Crosses make goals and goals win games. That is all that matters in professional football.

Rooneys cross made a goal, nobody elses did. That makes him the second biggest contributer in everything that matters.

Waste of time running at defenders if nothing comes from it.

Robbie Savage was spot on regarding Rooney, play him in his proper position.

I agree. If we play him, he should be played in his position, but we never did that with Gerrard in his pomp. Or Scholes.

    And we wasted them too.

With scholes its like playing xavi and pirlo out left. We would be laughing our heads off if spain or Italy did that.

True. We'll never learn. Back to club concerns soon enough, though.
