Not so, Mighty. I've seen the poms play a lot worse in recent years, a LOT worse. One thing that stuck out, but, was the amount of room they gave the Italians on the paddock. The Azuri never seemed to be closely marked and had all the time in the world to move the ball around. Still can't fathom why Rooney is still in the side. He appears to be thinking he is still playing in Germany in 2006 where he did exactly the same as today. ------------- (fill in the blanks)

Yer the fact there are no good southern players under 40 is a problem and means the north has to carry the country again but its nothing new.

We were outplayed. Italy went forward, scored then sat back and lapped it up. It's the best I've seen England play for a while and the youngsters did well. If we get to the next round then all well & good but I'm not counting on it.

As one of the girls at work said 'We should have Bale up front...' <laugh>

As for Spain: The wife said that she'd hit me on the head with a bottle for saying 'WHAT A GOAL!' when Holland scored. :emoticon-0120-doh:
