Sterling has been only posative for England. Although he has been quiet this 2nd half, have yo admit that Pirlo is such a classy player. He has silently kept that midfield ticking.
Weve been ok. Sterling our best player easily. Dont think rooneys been bad but hes been no better than ok. Corner was the worst i have seen. the pitch has to take some of the blame though.
Eurgh ****ing ridiculous. Only Roy Hodgson could make the team less attacking at 2-1 down by taking off Sturridge and replacing him with a midfielder to put Wayne "no goals and playing ****" Rooney upfront on his own. Putting Wilshire on who did **** all. Should have put Lallana on for Henderson and then Lambert for Sturridge. The amount of times in the last 10 minutes we had no players in the box as Rooney wanted to come out and help the build up when people were waiting to put crosses in. We aren't good enough to walk through teams, let alone this Italian team, so try something different in that last 10 minutes and put the ball in the box. Rooney's contribution other than the cross was to not bother marking, put a shot wide, ping a corner 40 yards behind the goal and then take the ball off Barkley and put a shot 10 yards wide/over
To be honest, we played very well. Best England team in quite a while. Rooney had a good cross but he was no Suarez today was he? Johnson was awful. Baines, surprisingly was quite poor, until Lallana came on. Barkley was good when he came on, too. Sturridge and Welbeck were decent and Sterling was easily our MOTM!
Jeez UIR Johnno was dogshit tbf but so was Rooney amongst others, it was a collective defeat(including Woy), so move on to the next game.
Neutral view, I agree on Rooney he shouldn't be in the team and doesn't perform when needed. Why don't England play like England in comps like this? The PL is high energy fast paced, attacking footy, as soon as you hit a comp like this you want to play a slower pace. Barkley looked good when he came on but along with Lallana he should start. Drop Rooney , Drop Welbeck and you my do well but I can't see Roy doing it.
Rooney, Johnson, Bains. Drop the lot of them. ****ing fed up with Johnson at club and country. He's useless
