Our two other group rivals face off in what should result in a comfortable win for Uruguay. Hopefully we will get a bit of added interest with Gaston starting. Uruguay could go a long way in the competition and look very strong. Even without Suarez today they have Forlan and Cavani up front. I can only see an easy win for them here.

Should have booked the Costa Rican defender there for the pathetic card wobbling gesture.

She may have learnt that when you promise her something is big, you may just be exaggerating ;)

Costa Rica need to ditch this bloody negative 5-4-1 now. So irritating to see it. They might be second best on paper but they actually have three genuinely good attacking players on the pitch. Why be so ****ing defeatist?

They must know they're not going to get a result, but everybody loves a team who shows up and plays. :(

Costa Rica really should be down to 10 men.

The thing is I reckon they could get a result if they played to their strengths. I haven't heard of an single one of their defenders, and even with five of them on the pitch Uruguay will eventually break them down if Costa Rica just let them have all the possession. Bolanos, Campbell and Borges are great players. Get them in a positive attacking lineup!

I managed them on FM and drew with Germany in the WC group stage and I'm taking that as proof it can be done.

Should have been a pen to Costa Rica. Exact same foul.

    Don't forget Bryan Ruiz :D

Maybe they're taking inspiration from Greece 2004 who anti-footballed their way to glory.

Forgot about Ruiz somehow. It seems so perfect to set up like this:

    Campbell
    Ruiz Borges Bolanos
    Whoever Whoever
    Whoever Whoever Whoever Whoever
    Navas

They should probably have taken some inspiration from what Greece anti-footballed their way to a couple of hours ago.

    Spectacular save.

Might be a good time to start attacking, Costa Rica, before you're facing an insurmountable deficit.
