lots and lots of empty seats at the spain vs holland game .
Is this an economic thing or lack of interest for one of the big clashes of the world cup.

19 of the 64 games in 2010 had attendances under 40,000.

There also a few who just scarped passed 30,000 and three or four under 30,000.

    It's nothing unexpected.

I agree with the OP, way more empty seats than there should be at a World Cup game like this.

What prices are the tickets for this game and are they the same for all group games?

I've no idea what the ticket prices are, but I saw an article in one of the papers recently, that said the ticket prices were roughly the same as the average weekly wage in Brasil.

That sounds a lot, but I seem to remember that in South Africa the ticket prices were the same as the average wage for two weeks.

If it was here, the ticket prices woukd match the average daily wage.

Sounds like a lot of tickets given to kids. I'm surprised they've got many left after the 'clean ups'.

We're in the smallest stadium tomorrow and there's over 1,000 tickets still available.

People just don't go to watch games of football in Brazil.

Most top division clubs average less than 10,000 and the team that plays in this stadium average 19,000.

The stadium doesn't exactly look small, and they only average 19,000 shocking.

Can't believe they've painted the England pitch green

Considering the 200m population, the attendances are surprisingly low, you get over 40k at Corinthians v Boca, but the average in the top flight is only 13,000.

from what ive read the stadiums have a reputation for being dangerous both inside and out - this was before the Police marched in with their Blatterguns tho

I'm sure many who would like to go are priced out, but it goes against the reputation of Brazil being some kind of mecca for football.

These stadiums will be white elephants once the show's over.
