While we are in the boring stage of the season, I wondered how many people from this site applied for tickets and how succesfull were you. It seems if the news is anything to go by that it has been a bit of a sham. Bradley Wiggins being the most high profile critic. I didnt apply for any myself, as I,ve not really got excited for the olympics, seems more for the southern people at the moment.
I'm like you, I just can't seem to generate interest in the Olympics.Hopefully that will change next year.
For the ticket price / travel costs / overnight stay / food and drink costs I could probably get a week in the Canaries - which is what I'm doing (well two weeks anyway)
i was 100% successful with my applications. this is bcause I applied for none. sorry but i find athletics utterly boring.
Its too far away for me to be all that bothered about it now if it was middle of the country maybe id have been more interested
Fair enough didn't know that as I felt it was all down south mainly still dont think ill be going somehow mainly I never have spare money
As I said, some. I will be watching some showjumping in Greenwich Park and the closing ceremony. Got nowhere on my Athletics, Cycling x 2, Swimming, Diving and Opening ceremony applications. Edit: Getting to watch the finals at Queens for a tenner last week made up for missing out on so many extortionate olympic tickets. And with the money I've saved on not getting them, well inflation and the eventual collapse of the fiat monetary system will take care of that (or I might just buy a big lump of gold with it).
