Very true. The positive is that there is clearly a conveyor belt of good stories beingp lanned for the world cup period. The new manager being just one.

Compared to Fergie, Bagpuss, Big Fat Sam.... ...I guess he does. Adkins and Wigley are considered young managers and both 50 or thereabouts.

Right, I'm starting to want Tuchel now, when I'd decided on Ronald. Sigh.

The problem with Twitter is that 9 out 10 posters are just having a laugh and post nonsense, when you get a genuine post you don't actually believe it!

For what it's worth,I think it's gonna be Steve Bruce, can I think that the delay is they can't agree compo, but I could be wrong.

I hope it isn't Bruce, and I'm confident we would have heard more - I hope

The fact no away match has yet been announced, when there is a European friendly lined up, must surely suggest the next manager is from the continent? A match against Feyenoord, for example?

It's unlikely that we would play a friendly against a new manager's former club, surely?

but if we were to sign one of more feyenoord players, some might consider a friendly on their turf would be a bargaining tool.

not sure it would be worth anything.

I've not seen anywhere where he said that, but again I could be wrong, think it all stacks up,think Reed has been impressed with the way he sees Hull has progressed ie Fa cup final. It will be interesting if Curtis Davis commits to a new contract. And again that's why it's been a while to get the deal done. Didn't Reed say the delay is about "paperwork". Could be reading too much into it,but it sounds like the way Saints would do business.

It would be worth the tickets they are able to sell (and a team to play against at their stadium which is presumably rarely free). I doubt a new manager would really want to play a friendly against the team they just left though. Can you imagine Pochettino wanting to play against us (at St Mary's) in pre-season?
