Trouble is PTF, is that there is rumour that he's gone elsewhere now. Personally, I don't see that as a problem. I'd like to see a manager with a little more va-va-voom. And no, I don't want to see Henry get his first job with us. :)

Saying that, Koeman would be fine. I just wouldn't be getting over excited.

If it's one of Koeman, Mancini (although I highly doubt it), Ranieri or Tuchel, I will be quite happy. I think each have their own qualities, and could attract good players to the club, and perhaps persuade some of the others to stay onboard.

I know I've been banging this drum pretty incessantly, but I believe Tuchel plays a game much more suited to us. Koeman's teams have played some pretty stuff but have also been pretty lightweight, and we should definitely expect our problem of holding onto leads to continue, or even worsen. When Mainz went ahead they stayed ahead. They were tougher and could grind out games when the pretty stuff isn't suitable.

Yes, there is a real Pochettino feel to Tuchel. Perhaps a little unknown in this country, linked with a few 'big' clubs, plays good positive football, led his club to a really great position considering their size. He seems a good fit, plus he is German. I don't know why, but I think I feel safe if a German is in charge. I think he would be excellent.

Because, as far as the English are concerned, Germany has a very good reputation, going back donkeys years, in terms of their engineering, manufacturing, management, etc.... Our everyday lives have at least one or two reliable German items kicking around us. It's no wonder you feel safe. I get the vibe too. :)

Plus the Bundesliga is probably the most similar in style to the EPL, out of all the major leagues. I'd love some of Mainz's players as well, particularly Shinji Okazaki and Nicolai Muller.

Don't think Tuchel is likely I'm afraid.

Yeah I addressed that rumour in the post you're replying to! Unless there's another one I'm not aware of?

Yes you did. Perhaps I ought to stop making and receiving phone calls while I'm doing the important business of replying to a post. :)

Spot on. Mainz pressed high, were solid throughout while also playing some nice attacking football through possession - very much like Poch as AL said. He seemed more tactically astute that MP, though and as you say was able to change his tactics when the main game plan wasn't working. I'm sure whoever they choose will be a great manager, I just think he would be a really good fit for us, not that I'm the expert!

Tweets rumouring about a 3pm Press Conference, probably nothing important about the Manager, just something trivial like a new Club owner or something. Or just another wind up of course!

There isn't a press conference for Saints at 3pm today.

It really is amazing how naive some Saints fans on twitter are when a random person makes things up.

I guessed that was the case, there is so much misinformation out there these days you wonder what people get out of it, straw clutching is all we are left with and it isn't fair on decent supporters to be treated like this, it is ruining the experience and leaves a nasty taste in the mouth.

So 51-year old Moyes counts as a young manager does he?
