I think you're being intentionally ******ed on this topic now. Mertesacker has never been quick and nobody is saying he ever was yet he has nearly 100 Germany caps. Jones is relatively quick in comparison but is a far, far inferior footballer overall which only you don't get.
That's fine, stupid an opinion as it is. Not understanding the difference between pace and ability is special though.
Matth- you can quote every statistic in the world probably and most likely know the inside leg measurement of Tom Cleverly but you know the square root of **** all about football.
lol that Jones video was just clips of him diving all over the place with a shoddy Gotye remix playing in the background. Fact is Matth thinks anyone who slips on a United shirt all of a sudden becomes 100x the player they were previously. I wish I could say that seeing you say Jones is better than Mertesacker is the most ******ed thing you have ever said, but sadly it isnt. Maybe the most ******ed thing you have said today....... It isnt even feasible to compare the two mate. Mertesacker is 3 times the player Jones is. Jones still has plenty of time to improve and may one day be a great defender. But right now is a mediocre, overpriced kid who couldn't even oust OAP Rio from the centre of your defence.
hehe I had to just give in. Its hard to have a reasoned debate with someone whose only retort is "He is better" and adds nothing further to back up his opinion. Its like arguing with a breeze block.
Surely whether he is or isn't better than Mertesacker (he isn't) is irrelevant. It's whether the high outlay for a teenage was worth it. At the moment you'd have to say no but I think with Rio and Vidic gone this could be a key season for him. If he can get a run at centre back we can see what he can do. Top class right back or central midfield player he isn't. He's clearly a centre back and needs to be playing there regularly. I certainly think he's now the best centre half at United as Smalling and Evans are average. Either way, an experienced top class centre half is surely a priority for United, possible to play along side Jones. Hummels?
That's your opinion and you're entitled to it. But, can you honestly say you think that anyone on this entire forum would agree with you? I doubt you could find many.
Not according to Hummels' pops: http://www1.skysports.com/football/...orussia-dortmund-after-manchester-united-link
'I have heard some rumours but Mats is happy at Dortmund at the moment, and only thinking about the World Cup' Kind of a stock response really. If there is genuine interest and Dortmund accepted a bid I'm sure he'd go.
