Well there was a soft penalty, and Neymar could have had a Red, but these things happen at World Cups. I was more concerned with the keepers effort for Oscar's goal. He'd been okay up until then.

That happens a lot, though, like soft penalties. Nothing massively controversial except, perhaps, the penalty. Croatia must feel hard done by today.

 

I don't think it was a red for Neymar. Sure he looks at the player first but so did said player, Neymar just beat him to it. If its a red then its a red for both #intent

Yes, for me, the Neymar / Modric incident was a yellow. Not sure about the Croatia goalkeeper incident.

 

so are you both saying if a player goes in with an elbow, that it only warrants a yellow? also dif to seeing the player first (which they both did and knew what they was doing), as opposed to jumping in blind ie didn't look at player just accidentally caught him.

i can accept that as its fair enough, but it wont be a rule for all, some refs will give a red.

Yep,should of been red for Neymar but was never going to be.

Ref ruined what was becoming an interesting opening game.

Penalty decision was ridiculous and the disallowed goal was incorrect too.
