I always forget Croatia have a decent team, Lovren, Modric, Rakitic, Olic, Mandzukic, Kranjcar to name a few.

 

Dejan's looked decent that half. Let Paulinho get past once, but otherwise very solid. Seems to be more vocal than Corluka (at least in this game) and is marshalling the defence well. The fact you'd barely notice Fred was playing is a credit to both centre backs.

 

Oh, and Clive Tyldesley, do your ****ing research will you? 24 hours? Twat.

 

Lovren seems to be having a good game.
That's another 2 mil on his price tag Brendan.

Just wasn't a pen in a million years.

 

That's always gonna be the risk with Lovren but it's partly what makes him a great defender. He is prepared to take risks and most of the time it comes off.

 

It works for us either way. Plays great price goes up. Costs Croatia the game, no one will want to buy him.

But that wasn't risky, it was just a ****ing awful decision.

Sorry! I'm genuinely really angered by that today. Mind you, means that I do still love Dejan and am definitely into the World Cup. Was worried on both fronts!

TBH, wasn't impressed with Lovren tonight.
Lack lustre attempt to close down Neymar's shot for the first.
Hand on Fred's shoulder, giving the ref the chance to give the penalty, even though it wasn't one. Probably wouldn't have been given, if it hadn't been Brazil.
Then he was so worried about getting too close to Oscar, giving him a chance to turn inside him, that he was caught out by Oscar taking the shot early.

You sure you want him, Liverpool?

 

No need to apologise Sir! I was worried too, but definitely getting into the World Cup spirit now.

 

Lovren was good. Never a penalty. But that's the sort of thing that can cause him to lose his head.

 

But (unless this is a put Liverpool off him gag?) he marshalled what was an excellent defence for Croatia. The first goal he *maybe* could have closed Neymar down. The second was never a penalty and he deserves no criticism for that. Third goal was caught out by Oscar shooting early, but I thought Corluka was so much more culpable for that one. Other than that, Fred didn't get a touch, which was down to Dejan, and he cleared out all the other threats. I thought he had a really good game.

 

Fred touched the ball just before he was shot. I hope he's alright.

 

Seeing Rickie on the post match guff made me so sad I ate a whole bag of kettle chips.
