I agree, this more than any other before it, is a World Cup that will fall flat on it's arse when/if the host nation get knocked out.

He reffed the game when the Netherlands knocked out Brazil in the last World Cup - there was no way he was going to ref another Brazil loss - this is more like a round of It's a knockout than a World Cup match..
Thing is the ref was getting most of the calls right but has ****ed up 3 or 4 big ones, all going Brazil's way.
Precisely. FIFA are in enough bad light for letting this World Cup et into such a state. How will they look if it doesn't even rejuvenate this massive footballing nation and the hosts go out early? The referees are under clear instruction to ensure Brazil win and if tonight's scandalous display doesn't highlight the level of corruption in FIFA to the world then nothing ever will. If the game had any integrity this game would be replayed at the least but, alas it's a weak game controlled by weak individuals with only two things on their minds, money and never losing face.
That's always the big problem with football, the referee has so much power, must be easy to rig games.

He's looked dodgy from the start. Had two fairly easy saves early on and patted them both away rather than catching, that seems to have set the tone.
Croatia have been robbed, nothing wrong with the equaliser and there was a foul ahead of the third. They don't look good enough to win the World Cup.
Until the pen I thought the ref did all right - then the wheels came off big time!!! Wonder if Blatter had a word at half time?
