I am a bit of a Jennie Candlish fan. She is very adept at getting one ready and knows her horses well. The yard don't mind pulling a stunt or two either.

I am hoping that the next stunt is with MAO CHINN TIRE 25-1 Aintree 7:35. She has let this one have a bit of a rest and now safe in the knowledge that he does his very best work fresh she could be going for one of those little tickles. The race a bit more competitive than I would normally like getting involved in but at the price I cannot resist. This fella has landed big odds before I remember as he once went in at 100-1. MAO CHINN TIRE is within a couple of pounds of his last winning mark and is worth an each way punt!

I know this is Friday's thread, but I won't be around much Fri and Sat, so .....

Dutch Rose in the 3-15 at York on Saturday.

O' Meara has two of the seven runners, but this mare is 4 from 4 at this track and looks like the one to be on to make it back-to-back wins <ok>

Not priced at the moment, and the 10-1 tissue looks ludicrously optimistic!

It was indeed i remember it because after the race they interviewed the owner and he said he'd managed to get 300/1 on course what he got back more than paid for the horse!

Agree, runs it's best races fresh, been off the track over 100 days twice, 226 and 259 and won both times, is a tough race though

TENBRIDGE Chepstow 7:15 6/1 loves the track and is on a handy mark. I expect to see the price dropping.

MAOI CHINN TIRE the money cometh......! Chelsea is correct though, its a decent little race!

Morning, all. Hope everyone well. Also hope everyone’s informers, insiders and contacts are fine too. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more.

Nothing from me today but the big news is that Mr Henderson and Mr Ponsonby are standing no messing about whatsoever. They’ve gone straight out and booked Ryan Moore to ride the Lieutenant in the ‘Ascot Stakes’ next Tuesday. The instructions from Mr Henderson will be sit handy and then when you round the final bend kick him in the belly, slap him on the rump (that’s the Lieutenant indentally not dear old Mr Ponsonby) and then let them catch you if they can. There won't be a dry eye or topper not yanked skywards if the Lieutenant obliges.

Good luck to those who do wager today.

I remember Mao Chinn Tire winning that race at 200-1 - looked an above average juvenile heat with Mr. Henderson's Grandouet, amongst others, in opposition, but Mao Chinn Tire absolutely bolted up. Oh how we laughed. Must check out the replay on Sporting Life this evening.

Sir Barney - far be it from me to question your verbage old boy, but is "yank" really the right term for what Toffs do to their toppers when excited? Surely "hoist" or "raise" would be more appropriate? Yank sounds a tad common.

Large salad, small bowl of goulash soup, roll.

    Rock A Doodle Doo @ 16/1 5.15 York

Well Backed at all rates from 25/1 into as low as 12/1 this morning, interesting jockey booking in the brave, talented Megan Carberry (-5), as Mr Ellison has a runner in the race, she has a 26% (6/23) strike for him. From the Sally Hall barn, who doesn't have many flat runners these days, this being only her second of the season, Rock A Doodle Doo showed he retains plenty of ability as he ran a respectable race 2 weeks ago when returned to the flat at Haydock, on soft ground. Down -4lbs for that run, he is absolutely thrown in here off a mark of 71, went off 5/1 Fav for The John Smith Silver Cup 2011 off a mark of 97 when trained by Alan Jarvis, he has slowly been improving his hurdle rating with consistent performances over the past few months to 118. If he runs anywhere near his best he must have a massive chance in this, @ 16/1, 1/4 the Odds 1st 4 Places paid, he represents outstanding value!

    Good Luck <ok>

Kedgeree. Which wasn’t up to much. 3/10.

Nass, old boy, that final paragraph that you’ve typed in your last post has just caused me to have a coughing fit after laughing so much. Absolutely outstanding.

Oddy, when one of Mr Henderson’s and Mr Ponsonby’s powers past the line, in glorious isolation, whether the chap is a Prince or a pauper then they most certainly do ‘yank’ such is the joyous sensations that such a success bring on.

Incidentally, when is someone going to put up tomorrow's 'Daily thread'?!? I've an interesting titbit to impart.
