Agger possibly linking up with Benitez at Napoli. Shame as I think he does offer a voice at the back and a bit of organisation but he has certainly not been at hi best last few years and injury problems are always a worry.

I'd probably make that swap as long as we weren't spending too much more on bringing Lovren in compared to Agger going out.

So if Chelsea can officially announce Fabregas as their new signing, makes me think the Can deal isn't 100% done then otherwise we would have done the same?

I thought it was maybe because it's International transfer and need to wait until 1st July but this seems to suggest otherwise?

 

Maybe we want our announcement to have more class than a player holding up a shirt in a dingy hotel room with a fat contract in the background

Can isn't on International duty so is free to fly over to Liverpool.

I reckon Fabrigas will take over from Lampard along side Matic and/or Ramirez.

 

Chance for us to look at Lovren and Rakitic this game, aside from the obvious spectacle of it being the opening game with some Brazilian flair players.

Lovren I really like, think he'll show himself well in this game. Rakitic really doesn't impress me, not sure why people rate him so highly, it'll be the Modric show for Croatia in midfield - when they do have the ball. Kovacic is another to watch too.
