    Ok done....

Do you think Wenger is looking to sign a new midfielder still?

    I'll bite.

Not our player, so nothing really to gloat about unless you were wumming Barca fans.

Won't pretend I am happy about his joining you but he's not really in our setup anymore, and Wenger obvs feels he doesn't need Cesc. Doesn't that sting just a little bit?

Sigh there's no way we can catch Chelsea now.

I will be very surprised if they don't win the league next year.

    Mourinho's signings were spot on.

Not at all. You've just allowed us to sign a world class midfielder we are in desperate need of to replace Lamps and partner Matic, why on earth would it sting? I will agree, it isn't a position that you needed to strengthen but he is better than the majority of your midfielders.

I'd wait until the end of the transfer window and see who we get before jumping to conclusions. Don't think it particularly hurts us missing out on Cesc, quality wise we have enough stocked in midfield and I'm not really bothered about Chelski although their fans will say otherwise. I'd rather we focused on buying in the areas we are weakest in, and improving our own team rather than worrying about who goes elsewhere.

Ceased worrying about Fabregas when he left to go to Barca in 2011, it hurt a lot then but he's not really our problem anymore.

Until next season! :p Then he will be everyones problem.
I understand the mitigation though, once it becomes clear that he is going elsewhere and not back to Arsenal the best way to deal with it is to focus on the positives of him not returning.
And that is that your manager can now spend his transfer kitty on the areas that are most important......but will he?

Once we decided not to sign him and he decided to go Chelsea cos no-one else wanted him, then yes, we'll spend the money on the areas of our squad that need it the most. Not particularly bothered about facing him in the league either, our recent results there could hardly be much worse. What will you do though, if he fails to perform, i.e. Torres?

Good point. I don't think he is very well suited to Moreens style of play either.

From their point of view he's just a better Oscar, they probably signed him to make sure Utd didn't

It's bad enough to join Chelsea, but to join and play under Mo, who has badly disrespected Wenger, the man who practically established Fabregas, and whom Fabregas likens to a 'father' like figure, is such a lack of class and betrayal, what a ****.

I completely agree that you don't necessarily need him as you have the strength in depth already, however Cesc Fabregas as we know him now is better than any of your midfielders bar maybe Ozil. It's the fact you have gifted him to your rivals we are thankful for.

He has said on his twitter that he considered many offers, hardly coming to us because nobody wanted him <doh>. Any signing can fail to live up to expectation, but Fabregas has not dipped in form or had injury problems like Torres did. We bought an already severely declining Torres, who was nowhere near his best. Isn't the same in this case. Of course, it could all go tits up but so can any deal.

Krome - he won't be competing with Oscar, his position will be beside Matic.

A87 - <laugh> an expected reaction from you.

Not really a gift, as we decided we didn't want him before he came to you. More like a question of Chelsea jumping on the bandwagon for a player that's not wanted by us, or by all these other teams, well do you really think there were a host of clubs vying for his signature? What did you expect him to say? That you were the only ones interested? Where else did you expect him to go? Barca (one of the best clubs on the planet I might add) didn't want him as he'd failed miserably and we turned him down because we have other options. His own options were few and far between. Anyway, like I said earlier, I'm not losing any sleep over it. He lost my respect when he left 3 years ago.

hopefully this means we are going to actually focus on buying the players we need for the areas that need adding to.

You obviously know nothing about football if you describe Fabregas' stint at Barca as having "Failed miserably", so will ignore any more of your spewings from now on <ok>
