Yeah but the extra money may mean we can buy more players that suit Kennys plan better..

We don't need money to fund transfers. However Kenny was told to sell all players that are not in his plans because it is pointless having them on the wage bill.It could take 2 years to get all of them off the wage bill. But it must be done.

So does Meireles apparently. Of the two I actually preferred Aquilani as there were games where Meireles went missing. Aquilani seemed more consistent on the games he played and he has a much better pass in my opinion. Meireles had a wicked shot on him but all to often it was saved or missed the Target (a fully fit Gerrard does that job better anyway)

so in conclusion i'd prefer Aquilani over Meireles and if they were to both go then I honestly wouldn't mind Adam in the team, from what i've seen he's passionate, gritty, is good in a dead ball situation and can find the net (a goal every 4 games as a career stat isn't bad for a midfielder)

Hmmm, I must've missed the bit about Meireles wanting to go.
The problem is there's is so much paper talk and agitation from agents looking to line their own pockets that it's hard to know what the players themselves really think or whether they're being misquoted. This applies to Aquilani as well and is further exacerbated by the fact that they can't always express themselves properly in English.

I hate this too, I prefer the player to come out himself, with words that are coming from himself rather than a sheet of paper or a speech prepared by the player's agent.

Off topic, I know, but I'd be interested to know how many Liverpool fans listen to talkSPORT. Considering that station was run by Kelvin McKenzie (the editor of The Sun in 1989 and the man responsible for the offending coverage), shouldn't it be boycotted in the same way?

Surely it makes more sense to boycott the hideous excuse for a man that signed off on the 1989 coverage, rather than a paper which is now staffed by entirely different people? That said, The Sun is a terrible paper and should be boycotted for its poor quality now anyway and certainly should never be quoted as a source.

Anyways, that aside: Liverpool are a big club. They should be looking at better players than Aquilani. Definitely ship him out before selling Meireles...

I would Mereiles to stay good player but if Kenny wants to sell him so be it
He played a big part for us in the second part of the season and scored some screamers
I for one will be sad to see him leave (if this story is true that is)

    As for Aqualani
The lad does not want to play for us SELL HIM SIMPLES

two very different leagues though. Premier Leagues fast, harder and more physical that Serie A. Meireles is stronger than Aquilani. Though I admit neither are really strong.

I'm trying to find a statistic about average passes in a premier league game compared to a game in serie A but I can't find one so i'll agree to disagree until I can find one

I like Meireles, I don't see why he has to leave. However it does make me wonder with Henderson and Gerrard as our CM's what is gonna happen with Lucas and Meireles. And Aquilani returning from Juve

Dirk can't play every game anymore, Hendo is too young & inexperianced to play every game as well, they'll alternate. We've been crying out for decent cover for positions for years and it's finally happening... unfortunatley we're not in europe to make decent use of it this year but the future looks promising

Kenny has already said that he wants to be able to change games from the bench and not merely go like for like!

I'm not talking about changing a game from the bench i'm talking about a congested fixture period

next season, our fixture list will be less congested than it has been for a very long time. However, I do accept your point. Therefore additionally, one of the things that we have lacked are players on the bench who can be called upon to completely change the dynamic of the game - unless you take Poulson and Konchevsky who could influence it negitavely!
