Maybe if we all bet on Tuchel he'll become the favourite and then the board will realise there's something in him? #pleasebetuchel
I defended Martino on another thread, but the fact is they sacked him. Calling Luis Enrique "that Celta Vigo guy" shows incredible ignorance.
I don't particularly want to have to create a new avatar but if it means getting Tuchel I will make a personalized one for every poster on here. #praisebetotuchel
Calling him "that Celta Vigo" guy illustrates a point. They've gone for someone less proven than Martino.
Guardiola was less proven than Martino. Enrique is someone whom they know extremely well. In no way is that appointment comparable to Martino's.
Do they not? Because what you initially said was that Sampaoli is not remotely qualified for the Saints job. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Guardiola was even less qualified when Barcelona hired him.
How are their situations at all comparable? Guardiola was already working for Barcelona when he was given that job. They didn't have to hire him on the back of his management experience. What exactly are you trying argue here?
And they gave him the job on what grounds? He was a good mate? All the evidence of his ability as a manager was in the time he spent managing Barcelona B, in a competition less reputable than the Chilean league.
I really don't understand what you're getting at. He was a club legend and they had a chance to observe at length all his qualities as a coach before giving him the job. How is this relevant to Sampaoli?
