http://www.aquarterof.co.uk/ Do not (Repeat: do NOT) log onto this site just after pay-day. I did once. BIG mistake. Went mental and spent almost £50 quid on sweeties. Me and the fat burdz in my office were chewing on them for a fornight afterwards
Wahetever are you trying to say Raaaul Happy to oblige. Pear Drops were one of my faves. Blobs was another. Oh and the sweetie cigarettes with the red tips. Very authentic. I presume they will have been banned now though.
You can still get Spiderman sweetie ***s. Remember the ones that were made of chocolate with white sugar paper around them?
Really?? I'd have thought the PC brigade would have demanded they be outlawed Aye, I remember the chocolate ones with the paper round them.
There's a wee stall up The Barras (or at least there used to be) where you could buy Whoppers and Spanish Gold etc
Does anyone remember those white candy sticks? They used to be our Saturday treat and you would pretend they were cigarettes. Good times. Also, does anyone else miss the days of rows of jars of sweets behind shop counters and you could pick and choose what you wanted from the shop keeper. Shops are so impersonal now because you don't need to ask for anything anymore.
They weren't that nice tasting though were they? Kids just used to think they were cool because it looked like they were smoking! I used to like those sherbet dips, looked like a big orange pencil, and the lead was made out of liquorice which was for dipping in the sherbet.
Oh yeah I loved those. Also I liked Choc Dips with some biscuit sticks and various flavours of chocolate dip. My favourite was the ordinary chocolate.
