Typically it's overcast here for the first time this week - my class have been organising their own Commonwealth Games and today's the day all the heats for the track events take place. Maybe...
I love the way schools do all that kind of thing - Am I right in guessing they're represnting different members? My nieces have to do little projects about Ecuador and Cote d'Ivoire for the World cup - a lot easier in these days of the internet than when we were kids I suspect
Morning all! Frustrating day today with two last minute cancellations... Not impressed! It can only get better, right?
Seems that no sport is immune: http://jerseyeveningpost.com/news/2014/06/12/sports-star-died-of-drug-overdose/
Yes - they each chose a country to represent and have an associated project to do on the country as well, nothing intense as my aim was more to get them working collaboratively than anything academic. I was slightly amused that 'countries' such as Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey were amongst the first chosen - and that one girl had chosen Switzerland. She was adamant that they were participating - and a little deflated when I pointed out the she had misread the name Swaziland... After today's events, New Zealand lead the way with 3 golds and a bronze....
Morning all, been up since 4am as Mrs S's generously donated cold has kicked in and I could not bweave lying down. Of course a sever dose of man cold will require recouperation in front of the telly watching the test match and WC. Interesting match last night I thought but the extra time goal scuppered my 15 points . Good to see Root and Prior back on form too, just need Cook to get his act together now. Damp start after rain overnight. Have a nice day all.
Another scorcher in store today here. Watering of an evening has become part of the routine now. Off to mark up some walls for floor levels. The old farmhouse that my daughter has been working on has been largely gutted and now has reached the stage where it can start being put back together. Huge piles of rubble disappeared yesterday as they were used to back-fill the holes where the fosse septic had been installed. It now looks as if there is a submarine in the back garden.
Morning all from a bright and sunny bandit country. Great predicting by me for the first game in the office prediction league... Busy day and then driving down to Heathrow to drop Little Miss W_Y off - she is off to Thailand for 3 weeks backpacking!
A second glorious day in a row. Put in some new plants and dug and prepared a new bed under some big trees...ferns and foxgloves I think. Looking forward to Spain-Netherlands tonight. Now tucking into a bottle of Golden Gorse, a very nice blonde beer from the Humpty Dumpty brewery in Reedham, Norfolk. Sounds odd but it's delicious!
... just popping over to wish all the luck in the world next season to your new signing Lloyd Dyer ... on his day he will cause panic in any opposing defence (albeit his end product is not always the best) ... but a smashing, very likeable lad, who will definitely provide you with some thrills ...
Cheers bud. I am excited about him signing. When you took us apart at vicarage road last year him and Schlupp were unplayable! Their link up play and passing and pace were incredible. They were immense that day! I would love to see Dyer and Anya or Pudil doing the same this year.
