Anyone set one up for the forum yet? Gay Bacon Strips (or whatever you're called now) this is usually your job! I'd do it myself but I should really be revising!
There were over 300 people in the Premier League one, but when I made a thread asking how everyone was getting on with a few games to go, I got about 5 or 6 responses!! Shows how people's enthusiasm wanes as soon as they are doing crappy.
Okay, I created one if anyone's interested. This is the website: http://en.mcdonalds.fantasy.fifa.com This is the league: http://en.mcdonalds.fantasy.fifa.com/leagues/82397 PM me for password, I guess?
There have been so many problems with the official fantasy football that it only opened late a few days ago. It is a bit rubbish as you end up spending loads of time trying to pick a decent squad while incorporating a few Algerians and Iranians... However, the only alternative is a random Australian one which seems weird seeing values in dollars!
I tried some other ones before settling on this one and they were all crap (and for the Telegraph you have to pay). Gave up searching and decided on this one. Also I'm going to just post the password here because I don't think much harm can come of it. The password for the league is saintsnot606
I'm just seeing me and you as members but I've had three requests for the password so it should go up to five soon enough. Wednesday morning probably isn't the best time to try and sort this out.
You can say that again. 100m to spend, but you have to pick 23 players. I like it that way though, because people have to get creative and pick quite a few mediocre players. My squad: GK: Begovic, Zemmamouche, Haghighi D: F. Rodriguez, Chandler, Coates, Kolasinac, Torosidis, Zapata, De Vrij M: Barnetta, Koke, Vidal, Endo, Di Maria, Salihovic, Aranguiz, Adomah F: Seferovic, Bony, Fetfatzidis, Kokorin, Chu-Young. I guess you could probably spend the bulk on 11 properly good players then fill the bench with dirt cheap players from Iran and Honduras, but I wanted to be adventurous.
I have no problem with the 23 but I don't like the fact that you can switch players once they have played. It is my midfield that sucks :s - do you think Aranguiz and Cuadrado will start?!
Well that took a long time. My squad: GK: Julio Cesar, Alireza HAGHIGHI, Luis Lopez DEF: Guardado, Baines, Chiellini, Aurier, Nagatomo, Montazeri, Vyntra MID: Iniesta, Cabaye, Lallana, Di Maria, Dzagoev, Bentaleb, Lacen, Beikzadeh FOR: Bacca, Benzema, Dzeko, Gavranovic, Djabou.
It's a weird rule, I'll give you that, but as long as everyone is on the same playing field it doesn't bother me that much. Cuadrado will surely start after the season he's had. Aranguiz will get games for sure. I wouldn't be 100% on him starting but that's just because they rotate so much it's impossible to predict a lineup. He's one of Sampaoli's regular players though, and in those wacky Sampaoli formations he can be the playmaker, defensive winger, wide forward or whatever. Basically Aranguiz, Vidal, Isla, Beausejour, Valdivia, Diaz are all pretty much trusted to play anywhere. Bloody love that team.
So if we can switch our players out mid-round if we don't think they did well enough, wouldn't it make sense to just pick the eleven players who have the earliest fixtures, then swap out the ones who didn't do well for players whose games are still to come? It's feasible that you could field all 23 players in a round (though only getting the points for the 11 who are on the field at the end of the round). So confusing.
