On top of that, the good things the US leads the way in has dwindled down to one: multiculturalism. Human rights and freedom in general are casualties of the Bush/Obama war on the Bill of Rights. Yes, but the rich don't fritter away the money they steal on food and housing. Another interesting point is that if the money spent on poverty programs were simply given to the poor in the US, no one would be below the poverty line. Even poverty programs are primarily entitlements for the middle class and the rich. The genocide committed in the western hemisphere gets far too little comment and attention, IMO. It seems that if you commit genocide with nearly 100% efficiency against a people, so that you leave them almost no descendants at all, it's perfectly okay because there's no one around to complain about it. I had an uncomfortable moment when a white South African told me once, "The difference is, you murdered all your natives."
"I had an uncomfortable moment when a white South African told me once, "The difference is, you murdered all your natives." And any that survived that around the world, European indigenous diseases had a go at the remainder.
Try finding a mention of the genocide committed in the Belgian Congo by the Belgians in Belgian school books.... Might take you a while as it has never been taught in their schools. Try to find mention of the British concentration camps during the Boer War in ours (though we did learn about the Amritsar Massacre at school). Not many countries in the "civilized" like to admit their bloody pasts. But then Africa has never really admitted their part in the slave trade either..... African tribes readily sold rival tribes to the white slave traders. There are very few, if any, countries in the world without a history, and present, of bloodshed, greed and immorality.
"There are very few, if any, countries in the world without a history, and present, of bloodshed, greed and immorality." As with all things in life, you hope that on the "balance sheet" you : 1. are in serious credit overall 2. learn from / become better due to all the things on the "red" side of the sheet

Good clip. There are always good things to do, and plenty of people who do them. Somehow it never seems to be the majority.
