i have a mental image of full coffee cups on shelves being pushed off the edge by a rotating metal coil and falling to the receptacle at the bottom.

Seville, Cordoba, Granada, any or all of those and you'll see buildings like you've never dreamt of. I particularly love the Alhambra at Granada, which is a must for anyone interested in the history of Spain.

If you try and open a spreadsheet which someone else is using, it tells you you can only view it in read-only, and I imagine there's a way to see who has it open, as we're all connected.

Granada is the ****. Like seriously. Not a castle as such, but the Alhambra is an epic palace built by the Moors when they had that part of the country. The whole city is like a Spanish/Moroccan fusion.

If you want a culinary experience, try Northern Spain and do a trip across that Northern region heading out towards la Coruna.

Is the plural of "cannon" not "cannons"? That's really irritating me.

Anyway, I think it's a great move by Boris. I have some reservations about whether we should be using those on people, but if he's willing to get hit by one then that's something. It's a bit like when Christopher Hitchens got waterboarded.

Sevilla is a very attractive city, but in August it will be blisteringly hot (45C) and not a thing will move between about 1 and 6 in the evening. Talking of a cultural city how about Madrid - it has got wonderful plazas, great tapas bars, a plethora of museums - and Sevilla is reachable in something 2 hours 30 on the highspeed AVE. But like Sevilla it will be extremely hot. How about the North of Spain - Bilbao and San Sebastian spring to mind. Indeed San Sebastian is the gastronomical capital of Spain according to Rick Stein. Should be able to practice your Spanish there even though Basque might predominate rather as Mallorcan (Catalan) does in some parts of this island where I reside.

I've been in Sevilla in August. It's hot, yeah, but you get the sea breeze, and you just do most of your walking before lunch and in the evening. Midday just chill out by a pool with some sangria.

I find the man irritating and the sooner the media ignore his apparent "buffonary" the better because the man has an intellect (not that I agree with his views) but I would rather hear him speak arguing on why his policies should be implemented, than by photo stunts like this which undoubtedly make him charming in some people's eyes but don't fool me in the least.

Go easy on the sangria at that time of the day Joe as you can get a good hangover if you drink too much. Better to stay off the alcohol during the day altogether as it dehydrates the body and in that heat you will de-hydtrate very quickly.

I don't think it's a "stunt". He was challenged to stand by his decision to bring in water cannons which some deem dangerous, and he's accepted the challenge. If he hadn't then you know all his detractors would be saying "if they're not too dangerous then why aren't you willing to be shot with one?"

Just drink plenty of water. Solves the dehydration and hangover problems. I wouldn't have kept visiting Spain if it wasn't ideal to drink through the day.

Eric Cantor-- the de facto leader of the House and likely next Speaker-- lost in his primary. The best way to put it is that he was arguably, the most powerful Republican in the country. He lost to a guy no one ever heard of and who spent $122k on their campaign to his $5 million. That's shocking.

But the other shocking thing about it is that Cantor has been positioning himself as sort of a far-right, Tea Party guy. The Speaker of the House is this guy John Boehner. Cantor's been undercutting Boehner at every opportunity-- whenever Boehner meets with Obama or tries to push through legislation Cantor stalls it out and accuses Boehner of being a sellout. But Cantor lost an even farther right, even more Tea Party guy who accuse Cantor of having ties too close to liberals and being a sellout.

I don't know how much farther they can go with this. The next guy is probably going to have to literally bitchslap Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton to be taken seriously as a conservative.

Jeeze, hideous crash for Loic Duval at Le Mans practice. That doesn't look good. At all.

    Fingers crossed.

It looks horrifying, looks like the cockpit is exposed there. Hope Loic Duval is okay.

At first look, it looked like there was a hole in the top of it. Thought some of his helmet colours might be exposed...

By the looks of things, the car has went airbourne into the catch fence, seeing as half of it is destroyed. Looks very bad, and I'm very worried about what could be happening.

He's out of the car into an ambulance now, apparently. Thoughts are with him right now - don't think I could deal with having another situation like last year :(
