Yep, played under 2 pretty hapless gaffers, but the lad is definitely a good player, very good.

I bet we'd have competition from some very big clubs.

I'd rather not take Sneijder, past his peak for me and just wouldn't work. For the same reasons I don't want Robben either.

Called the Fer one yesterday, think he'll do a good job for Sunderland if Poyet can fetch him in.

Shurup man Terry, He's still class and an experienced head who knows your manager. He's just what you need Tel for your average young squad. I'd think he'd be a great signing for you fella.

Garry Monk is prepared to give Ki Sung-yueng an opportunity to prove his worth and earn a new contract at Swansea City.

The South Korea international spent the 2013/14 campaign on loan at Sunderland after being deemed surplus to requirements in South Wales.

Gus Poyet expressed an interest in making that deal permanent midway through the season, but transfer talk cooled after Ki’s form dipped over the final few weeks.

He is now expected back at the Liberty Stadium this summer as he still has a year left to run on his current deal.

Monk is prepared to offer the midfielder a clean slate, with his predecessor Michael Laudrup having taken the decision to move him out, and has refused to rule out the possibility of fresh terms being tabled if the former Celtic man impresses.

He told the South Wales Evening Post: “I think Ki is a quality player and, as things stand, he will be with us next season.

“Ki can add quality to our squad, he proved that with his performances at Sunderland last season.

“If he is with us next season and he plays and he does well, we will then look at extending his contract.”

Apparently we've approached Chelsea about Tomas Kalas on loan for a year but dropped interest when Chelsea refused to write in a future fee. He looks poised to join FC Köln on loan instead.

Could be a clear indication that we're not willing to take on any loan signings without a reasonable future fee in place. Bout time if true.

    This.

Sneijder is an incredible talent, and played a lot of his best football under van Gaal.

He could be immense for United.

We are hearing that Sunderland are weighing up a bid to hijack Newcastle's move for French striker Bafetimbi Gomis. Newcastle have been regarded favourites to land Gomis, who is a free agent, after holding a long-term interest in the former Lyon striker. However, North-East rivals Sunderland are ready to join the chase for Gomis as Gus Poyet looks to bring in a new striker to the Stadium of Light

Probably bull but that would be funny

West Ham are reported to have approached Fiorentina with view to taking full back Marcos Alonso Mendoza on loan.

The 23-year-old Spaniard spent the latter half of last season on loan with Sunderland but today's Corriere Fiorentino says that the Hammers have approached la Viola with view to a season-long loan. Alonso, who made one appearance for Real Madrid with whom he began his professional career previously spent three years at Bolton before moving to Italy.

We need to sort this one out.

We want him, he wants to come, if we miss out to a team in & around us I'll be livid.

Sunderland are still hoping to re-sign Marcos Alonso, with a swap deal with Modibo Diakite still a possibility, but West Ham have tried to gazump Gos Poyet for the Spanish left back.

According to a report in Corriere Fiorentino, West Ham have recently made a written offer for Alonso. The offer was for a season-long loan deal with the option to purchase at the end of the loan, which was immediately rejected by Fiorentina. The report goes on to say that the Serie A side want to take a look at Alonso during pre-season and evaluate the progress the Spaniard made during his loan spell with Sunderland before considering any potential sale.

Although Fiorentina rejected West Ham's loan offer, Alonso is still only third choice in the pecking order at left back for the Italian side, behind club captain Manuel Pasqual and Peruvian international Juan Manuel Vargas, so any offer to buy the player on a permanent basis is likely to be considered.

With Alonso impressing for Sunderland and becoming a fans' favourite when he arrived on loan just as the January transfer window opened, expect news of West Ham's interest to accelerate Poyet's plans to push for the left back's return to the Stadium of Light.

I love the lad me, plays for the shirt.

Yeah, some areas to improve, but he was constantly improving all season, want him as our number 3, long term.

Would you lot prefer to sign Alonso permanently or Rose permanently, assuming you could acquire both at the same price?

You have had two seasons now whereby you've taken on a LB on loan and they have come good, very good in fact. When you gonna learn fellas? ;)

Soon 27 years, Luca Cigarini is a safe bet in Serie A, who has notably played for SSC Napoli and Parma FC in the past. And midfielder Atalanta, who still co-owned property bordering the Vesuvius club could afford a first major transfer in the offseason.

Indeed, AC Milan would be interested in the profile Cigarini to overcome the long Riccardo Montolivo particular injury. Furthermore, Palermo, Torino, Sunderland and Queens Park Rangers are also on the lookout on this issue.

Given that I've never seen Rose play the way we do under Poyet I'd have to go with Alonso, tried, tested and I like what I see.

Alonso for me, but I'd be happy with either in fairness.
