While you're on, do you think Bruce might actually go to Southampton ...... isn't he on a weak contract at Hull? And, do you think Livermore would be a good replacement for Colback? http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/crystal-palace-eye-jake-livermore-3671968
£75k a week not a chance. I've no doubt his agent has leaked the offer to try and get him a bigger club, but if he doesn't get one, it would be a great signing for us. The Bruce to Southampton story is being pushed daily by the Mirror for some reason, I suspect there's little in it. And Curtis isn't for sale, we're trying to strengthen the team, not sell our best players.
With all due disrespect to Hull, I'd like to think Lescott would get some better offers than that. He's still a good defender. I'd be all over him if I was Pochettino.
Probably why his Agent has made it clear we're interested. He'll get a lot of interest. He's a good defender, and will do a decent job for anyone outside the top 4. He's just not good enough for Man City, at the minute. I'll believe it when i see it. As for Davies leaving... hopefully it isn't true. I've seen some weird rumours on this including Davies to Newcastle in a swap with Taylor. That would be embarrassing.
Davies had a good season by his own and by Hull City's standards, I wouldn't get carried away by other club's interest in him though. There's much better value on the continent for defenders, than forking out upwards of £8m for a 29 year old Englishman with 1 good season in the top flight under his belt. Lescott's finished for England now, if I was him and neither Spurs or Everton, or Arsenal come in for me I'd be off abroad, probably the MLS.
I dont think he will go to Southampton. I dont really believe that they want him to be honest. I believe that he is probably on their list but I doubt he is very high up on that list. You are right that his contract is fairly weak for us. He was signed on a 3 year deal with some sort of rolling 1 year extension on it. I have not heard what triggers that rolling 1 year extension but he is going into his last year of the 3 year deal. My guess would be that after he has done his signings him and our owners will discuss a new contract. Livermore is a hell of a player. Personally I would rather have Livermore if given the choice between the 2. I am not sure if he would perform quite as well as he did for us without Huddlestone next to him. Since they are both from Spurs I do not know how much of his play is based off an understanding that goes back years. Whoever signs Livermore will end up pleased they did of that I got no doubt. I should point out that I do not watch your games so my knowledge of Colback is limited.
