Genji, I think that if a driver from Tier 3 beats all the drivers from 2 then they should get double points, same for T2 -T1. Starting from Silverstone, if majority agree I have also noticed that 11 and 2 were the exact same as in Monaco.
I wouldn't be against that if the mods are happy with it. The only things I would say are a) it's highly unlikely so might turn out to be futile and b) what I'm really looking for is a kind of consolation prize for people with crap drivers but one that is fair to everyone (i.e. not giving people with a crap driver a go on the teams sweepstakes just because they picked a crap driver, although I'd be open to that too for future races if it was preplanned and everyone agreed to it).
You know what? I'll trade with you SA [NSFW]Only joking[/NSFW] Genji, maybe the people with crappy drivers should predict their position, and if they get it right get about 10 points?
That's quite a good idea but to be fair everyone would have to be able to predict. If we got into defining who were the crappy drivers it would have be along the lines of "bottom WDC-placed driver from the bottom two WCC-placed teams in each tier." As things stand that would give us: Massa, Heidfeld, Alguersuari, di Resta, Karthikeyan, Glock. Sounds a bit complicated to me. Another thought I had was having four tiers: 1 (RBR, McLaren, Ferrari), 2 (Renault, Mercedes, Sauber), 3 (STR, F-I, Williams) 4 (Lotus, HRT, Virgin). Then almost any one of the drivers in the tier could win it.
For what it's worth, I think that's a much better idea. The only point of contention might be which team should be third in tier two.
Ok, so the tiers fluctuate. Can't say fairer than that and I do think four tiers is fairer than three. Plus, there'll be more happy members after each race weekend!
i was also going to propose the four tier system, cos its not that fair to the renaults in tier 1 and the bottom three in tier 3
I like the idea of bonus points for lower tiered drivers beating the higher ones, but not double. and I think you mean tier Mr V-B, I agree, I'm screwed, no way is Petrov gonna beat RBR,Mclaren and ferrari, they do well to beat Mercedes and Sauber, and Williams have made a huge advance since the start of the season, can't see the Virgins staying on the same lap. McLaren, RBR, Ferrari Mercedes, Renault, Sauber, Torro Rosso, force india, Williams Lotus, Virgin, HRT that's pretty fair I think, but not for this week, i'll take it on the chin.

The sweepstakes for the British GP will open next Friday, 1 July, at 6:00PM.
It is funny to think that you are just as likely to get Vettel in every single race than any other combination of drivers. It is a bit like if you flip a coin 100 times you are just as likely to flip 50 consecutive heads and then 50 consecutive tails than any other pattern.
I'm going to mix up the scoring as well so that in total you're giving away about the same points, just shared out differently. That should keep the balance between the races we've already had and those in the future. What do you think about five points for your driver finishing ahead of his team mate - then it doesn't matter who you get, you've still got a chance to get something? Yes, each race is a complete reset and the odds don't shrink race by race.
genji, I dont know if we are making it too easy to win. Not everybody should be a winner lol. The points idea is good. Are we still going to rerun the first races during a break?
I agree about points, Bando - scoring something should be special - but there's quite a lot of moaning when people pick a dud. Tell you what, we'll leave the 5 points for beating you're team mate for a few races, see how it goes. Yeah I'm still thinking of running the first five races during the summer break - obviously only to the point of picking numbers and then applying the results - but there's plenty of scope in there for cryptic clues.
4 tier and leave it as that, 1 in 6 chance to win each event. Don't do teammate points it would get out of hand putting more points around.
Good. That's settled then. 10 points each from FP1 go to: Paco Ramirez (Webber) Fred (Sutil) jerseymackem (Barrichello) Mclarwum (Ferrari)
