    Huddlestone?

One massive name that didn't turn us down:

Ah but times are different now. You probably didn't think we'd get Huddlestone when we were linked with him last summer, but we did.

I think our main issue was finishing poorly. If we'd have stayed closer to 12th/13th i think people would be talking much more about how good we were. A lot of opposite fans seem to have forgotten how good/solid we were at the start of the season and just think of us as 'that team that got promoted and managed to stay up.' They're all probably expecting second season syndrome.

Charlie, think of the best player Hull City have ever had and then ask yourself, in terms of footballing ability, is he fit to lace up Fellaini's boots?

The answer you are looking for is probably, no he isn't.

Until now I was on the pro-Fellaini side - but that's taking things too far. I can't agree with that.

You've just lost the argument right there. I do wonder what some of you see when you watch a game of football.

I'm not suggesting you change your mind and join a Fellaini 'love-in' I just feel it's a bit shortsighted (and wrong) to reject him as a bad footballer.

A key player leaves and the fans make out they are glad to see him go?!?!?! Never!!!!

Huddlestone is a very good player, but Fellaini is a better one. Any other offers?

Btw, fit to laces his boots should not be taken too literally this time. Just a list of the players we have had who are or were better players. I am not expecting a long list.

I would have Lescott in a heartbeat.

I agree that he plays unattractive football, but, in the right team, it can be very effective. I don't think it would suit our game style, so would rather look elsewhere; although it does concern me that we do, at times, lack the ability to maul as Tigers should. I think the answer to your last question is yes and no: it the way this board goes at times, good innit! :emoticon-0100-smile

I can only call what I see. Can't pretend otherwise BFT. I think he is hugely overrated. He is an exceptionally dirty player as well.

Can we also not act like we're Man Utd or Everton as well please? If they want rid of a player who featured heavily last season and we weren't interested i'd be fuming. Just because the top teams don't want him or he'd not in their class does not automatically make them '****e.'

I think this is the quickest backtrack in not606 history.

    Damage control reporting in!

Were Vinny Jones, Tommy Smith, Crazy Horse, etc. good footballers? It's not intended to be a definitive list that compares like for like, but consider different playing styles and what a manager wants from a player. Fellaini is simply a round peg and needs a round hole, but he is bloody decent as far as pegs go - certainly not and no where near crap.

Who is acting like we are Man Utd or Everton? It's my opinion on a player. Simple as that.

The betting odds on us signing Lescott are now 1/2. Not to distract you to much from your Fellaini conversation.

Its like saying Messi is ****, its an opinion but it wont be taken seriously. Bruce would snap Man u's hands off to get him at the right price.

Anyway we wont be getting him so its immaterial
