Sporting Lisbon has made the first move in signing Al Ahly midfielder Remy Rabia by bidding £500,000 (which has been knocked back), who we were also interested in a while back. In fact I'm pretty sure we enquired about taking him on trial and we were rebuffed. Arsenal are also said to be interested. EDIT: I only put this in because we're supposed to be after him too. I wonder if it will spur us into making a move.
What about checking down at the snooker club? The're bound to have all the insider knowledge on all things regarding Hull City's transfer activity.
We need to get shut of prossy & Sagbo before we look another striker! Long, jelly, aluko & Brady can all do a job there! Let's get quality in other areas first!
Bruce has spent a lot on long and jelly so they start if fit! The euro comp could be a one up front job! I just can't see a good striker coming here to be third choice! I'd rather have another quality midfielder!
Here's the Lescott stoy on the Sky site. Sky sources understand that Hull City have made an offer for former Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott, who is a free agent. The deal on offer from Steve Bruce is understood to be for an initial two years with a third year as a option. Bruce is keen to bolster his squad for next season as Hull prepare for European football in the Europa League and he hopes to win the race for Lescott's signature. Lescott was not offered a new deal by City when his deal ran out earlier this summer with the England defender dropping down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium. Lescott joined City from Everton for a fee of around £22m in August 2009 - and made 92 Premier League appearances, scoring seven goals. Several Premier League sides, including Aston Villa and West Ham, have expressed interest in the England defender but he has also options abroad, with German side Schalke and Al Ain in the UAE also reported to be keen on his services
Daily Mail reporting: Lescott offer, as discussed above Steve Bruce has met with Tom Ince about joining, but could be put off by the £8m compensation fee demanded by Blackpool. Mirror reporting: Crystal Palace are prepared to meet Spurs' £6.5m asking price for Jake Livermore after Hull City baulked.
Do Blackpool get a say in compensation fee? Never really understood how that worked and i'll be gutted if we miss out on livermore
