Tim Sherwood is favourite for the West Brom job. Also... Tickles, Shaw was rightly chosen over Cole. You need to give the players the experience of major tournaments. Cole would not have played over Baines, therefore taking him would've been pointless when Shaw can be taken to give him experience for when he will be our main left back, which, considering Baines' age, won't be too far away, probably the next World Cup.
As much as it pains me to recognise that Tickles is factually right for once, Cole only retired from international duty after Woy called him to explain why he was leaving him out. He was available for selection for the squad.
