I wonder if the bookies will offer odds on him being the next Buttner? He's decent going forward is Shaw but he's ****ing **** in defence. Not good enough for a side like Man U yet, but far too expensive not to be a regular. £5-10m base fee with add ons and £20k p/w rising with appearances would have been a fair deal. Bet southampton and Shaw are pissing themselves in glee... Never mind the great train robbery this pair have just took it to a whole new level
Didn't know he was available. We should have had a ganders, would have been an excellent addition to our squad with experience at all top levels of football. Wonder what his wages are nowadays...
I think Shaw's easily good enough for Man U and will probably spend his career there like Rooney. It's a huge outlay, but worth it partly to get the player they need and save them buying another left back for the next 10 years but also to send a message to the sponsors, shareholders etc that they still mean business.
Rick ‏@HullCityLive Sporting Lisbon have had an offer of £500k rejected for Al Ahly prospect Ramy Rabia. #hcafc & Arsenal tried to take him on trial previously.
He's not quite a Man U quality player yet though. He's still touch and go defensively from what I've seen. It's a mammoth of an outlay and anything but shrewd business. If it was built mostly around performance related add ons it would be sensible but just ploughing that cash at a young lad who might be worth £27m and £160k a week in a few years if he continues his current rate of improvement is silly.
Chris Waddle will be appointed as new manager of Sheffield Wednesday following their takeover(according to L'Equipe).
Who with ? If true and after the Fellaini mess Woodward really has lost the plot. Someone needs to tell Louis Van Gaal this news. Nothing official anywhere so far. You would. Luke Shae is the ost over hyped player for years. I am still angry over Shaw going to Brazill over Ashley Cole ffs.
First Senderos and now Joe Cole. Villa fans wont be happy. Another relegation dog fight looms for them.
I know, like I said, before the squad was announced - but would there have been any value taking a player of his age to the World Cup when there was no intention to play him? There's far greater value in taking a younger prospect to give him the experience of a major tournament.
I wouldnt have taken him either, he was pushed out of the Chelsea squad by a right back - very similar to us and Figgy, but he still managed to get a plane ticket!
I'd have taken Cole. I think I'd have started him too. And even though he's a left back, and to my knowledge only played on the left, I bet he'd make a more solid right back than any of the rest of the squad. Johnson can't defend, Milner was worse than dire there in that friendly, Jones for some reason just always looks well out of place to me playing anywhere other than at centre half and the less said about Smalling the better.
Nah i wouldnt. If Richards was fit I'd a taken him. As it is I'd be tempted to go 3-5-2. Johnsons decent going forward at least with 3 at the back theres more cover.
No he did not . He retired as a consequence of the clueless Woy not picking him ffs. If England dont come to miss Ashley Cole in this World Cup it will be a miracle.
