The craas are jumping with delight at signing Colback. I'm genuinely unmoved. Shows who's skin has really been got under with the last 5 derby results. As a decent squad player I'd have preferred him to stay but I'll get over him leaving in a blink of the eye. If he is their main summer signing, then I'll piss myself. I think he's very ordinary in reality but a good squad player nevertheless. We move in now to our summer recruitment and we will see their fans commentary about Ginger Jack as the season unfolds.
If this was Wickham or Mannone it would be upsetting. Thing is, I don't think Colback would be anyone's favourite player at Sunderland, he's been the 'invisible man' for years. We got him for nowt, paid him what he was worth and now someone else has decided he's worth a lot more, can't say I'm in tears tbh.
The fact they are cock-a-hoop over this signing and most of us are totally unmoved tells me more about their state than ours Smug. I think the likes of Ba could step up now and get his chance anyway.
Giaccherini showed, against Man City away, that he can create what we lacked throughout the season. He showed against Cardiff how well he can finish, I reckon he's scored more in half a season than Colback has in his life. Players like Colback are more easily found, Mutch at Cardiff for example, than the likes of Giaccherini. I lost track of the times Colback would receive the ball and turn away from goal before laying it off.
Who's jumping with delight? Nobody I've spoken to gives a **** about him signing! It's certainly rattled your clubs cage though. Can't understand what the fuss is about. You didn't offer him a good enough contract and he's signed for the club he supports. That statement from your club was full of bitterness and embarrassment.
I thought it was funny when you read it and look at the photo they posted ........ comedy classic for me like It's a refreshing change from the ****e clubs usually pump out, "We thank him for his service and wish him blah blah blah ........ " **** that, there should be more honesty in the game.
Were the club foolish to give him a contract that took him just beyond the age where we wouldn't get a fee if he left? Maybe. As for Colback, I don't see anything underhand in this move. Off to play for the team that he supports (it really doesn't bother me that it's the skunks) rather than take the OTT wage packet offered by West Ham is a rare trait these days, but never gave less than 100% in a Sunderland shirt and played a significant part in the great escape (worth far more to the club than any transfer fee) so as far as I'm concerned good luck to the lad.
I firmly believe that a secret deal has been done between Colback and the Skunks for quite a while now..It bloody stinks, but nothing surprises me regarding the Skunks..
I think the bitterness stems from our club being well aware that they have been stitched up with a secret deal done between player and club..
Well he said he wanted to stay if we stayed up, we could have shifted him in January. Then when safety was confirmed he wouldn't negotiate. He broke a gentleman's agreement which means Colback is far from a Gentleman. It's really not hard to comprehend. But then Mags do tend to struggle with the basics.
