For ****'s sake, another one gone who'll never be replaced ....... will only be truly appreciated, by some, now it's too late.

A guaranteed '4 red buzzers' on BGT <doh>

A very funny man and a chameleon of a comedian, from Kevin Turvey to Alan Bastard.

I never get upset with these celebrity deaths, until now, he'll become a 'national treasure' now he's gone.

I remember watching him for the first time talking about "Noele Gordon from Crossroads" and crying my eyes out laughing my head off.

Very very funny bloke R.I.P. Rik Mayall.

My favourite episode as well. I'm going to have to download it and watch it again now.
    RIP Rick.

i had to stifle my tears when i heard at work! Never thought i'd react this way to a celebrity death! Though the amount of hours i have spent watching repeats and roaring with laughter at his shennanigans, its not suprising!

    Bang on Comm.

Clever comedy, shrouded in slapstick humour. To me it was much more than frying pans and cricket bats, it was a well scripted and perfectly executed comedy.

The live shows were pure gold, like Smug says it wouldn't even get a nod from the 'judges' of what is funny today, yet comedy that Mayall and Edmondson have written will stand the test of time, and in 20 years from now I'm fairly certain I won't even remember who the **** Miranda is or which unfunny ****er won some boring 'talent' contest.

Mayall and Edmondson worked so well together, the modern day Laurel and Hardy.

Bet they would have been a scream to work with, imagine a night on the piss with that pair.

Do you know what makes me piss myself more than anything, it's Ade's account of how things went when he sat down with Rik to discuss writing a new Bottom series/live show.

"We sat down together and after a few minutes I realised I couldn't work with Rik again". Any body who knows how Rik and Ade are together knows fine well that Ade will have been sat down all serious about writing some new material and Rik will have been sitting next to him hitting him with something repeatedly until Ade walked out.

Ade said he's fallen out of love with comedy and that he knows all the jokes, he's seen everything and I think it was right that they didn't go back to it. The partnership was the best I've seen, especially when they ditched Ben Elton and started writing everything themselves, it went to a different level then.

I absolutely loved him. Yes he was an amazing comedy actor but I always held out hope for him being cast in a very dark role because I've never seen a comedian with such expression. He would have been a very fine serious actor if given the chance. Right from watching 'Grim Tales' as a kid of 4 or 5 I grew up watching him with my big sister.

Arnie, Stallone and Rik are the three people I never want to hear this news about. Very sad news.

    Rik was a giant.

God help us now when you take a look at all of today's so called comedians!! They all sing to the putrid socialist 'politically correct' ****e hymnbook.
