I'll no pretend to care about or understand hurling...but can imagine bampots watching it once then knocking **** out if each other trying to play it...
Never played it but it looks rough as ****, Lacrosse is the same, not for pansies or people who don't like a good scrap.
Watch Hurling on Sky3.dangerous game, notice 4 doctors on pitch, wearing white coats ,2 either end ,both sides of the goal. brave men.
I used to love these games:
I watch it in the pub now and again and yeah it's a decent watch but a few of the lads in there do get very up their own arses about how great a game it is and how you have to be hard to play it etc etc.. It's a game - full stop. Mind you, they're no worse than northerners going on about rugby league......
I played Water Polo once, that is rough, toughest sport i've played. (No jokes about the number of ponies I drowned)
They still talk about some game in the olympics from years back where the water basically turned red because it was so violent
You have to be extremely fit and there's a lot going on under the surface that the Ref never sees, Vicious.
This is the daddy of all sports
Ah, Kabaddi. Did that used to be on C4? The game where you have to hold your breath? Probably all those Curry farts.
aye mental, was at a **** load of them games. Some craic in the crowd when that **** started kicking off
The rules of the game are as follows. Two teams occupy opposite halves of a small swimming pool or field and take turns sending a "raider" into the other half, to win points by tackling members of the opposing team; then the raider tries to return to his own half. The goal of the raider is to tag or wrestle ("confine") members of the opposite team before returning to the home half. Tagged members are "out" and temporarily sent off the field. The raider must not cross the lobby at least he touches any of his opponents. If he does so then he will be declared as "out". There is also a bonus line which ensure extra points for the raider if he manages to touch it and return to his side of the field successfully. The goal of the defenders is to stop the raider from returning to the home side before taking a breath. If any of the seven players cross the lobby without touching the raider he will be declared as "out". The raider is sent off the field if: the raider crosses a boundary line. a part of the raider's body touches the ground outside the boundary (except during a struggle with an opposing team member). Each time when a player is "out", the opposing team earns a point. A team scores a bonus of two points, called a "lona", if the entire opposing team is declared "out". At the end of the game, the team with the most points wins.
