    None of them should have played for England as they are clearly Irish ?.What's that 6 in 30 years,all lived in England played in England and spent the 4 years qualifying period in England.If all yours have lived and played the last 4 years in Ireland fair enough although I still think you should only play for your country of birth.

    The rule used to be,if you weren't born in the country you want to play for,then you had to live there for 4 years which made you eligible.What different rules are you talking about.

    I'd have thought someone with an Irish passport would consider themselves irish, same for england

    You mean the Jack Charlton Irish passports,don't agree with the several passports play for lots of country's scam.Should be English or Irish not both.A person who's great grand mother was Irish is not Irish IMO.

    They have both,Jack Charlton started the give any player who will play for the Republic a passport scam and its been carried on ever since.

    Ireland Becomes First Team to Beat England in England

    On 21 September 1949 Ireland played England in a friendly match at Goodison Park in Liverpool. It was just the second meeting between the two nations and Ireland became the first foreign team to beat England on home soil. In front of a crowd of 51,487 a first half penalty by Con Martin and a late second half goal from Peter Farrell secured a famous victory for the Irish.
