    I'm absolutely devastated, he's one of my favourite people ever. Amazing person and comedian. RIP Rik you barstard!

    I was very fortunate to see him on tour with Bottom Live back in 2003.

    Terrible news, "the young ones" was the best comedy series of the 1980's, and "bottom" in the nineties was also brilliant. Rik had done a massive amount for british T V comedy, B'stard as well, I am shocked as he was 56.

    Did you get your previous username 'Terry Hardacre' from an episode of bottom????

    He had a huge hand in shaping my sense of humour as I was growing up! I owe a reasonable sized part of my character to him! Cant believe it!

    Me and my best mate always take the piss out of each other's clothes and whenever he mentions my shirt I always reply "THIS is an original Vander Heusen" and without even thinking about it he always replies "Yeah, it's THE original Vander Heusen".

    So much of his humour and things he's said eek their way into my every day life. Amazing man.

    One of my favourites and he will be missed. Some of the Bottom stuff was sublime, especially Rik and Eddie's fights. The gasman has to be my favourite ever episode, laugh out loud beginning to end.
