    Are Manchester United and Valencia about to be promoted into next season&#8217;s Europa League?
    Chatter is starting to build up after UEFA announced yesterday that Turkish clubs Sivasspor and Eskisehirspor have been banned from next season&#8217;s Europa League on match-fixing charges.
    According to UEFA, Sivasspor and Eskisehirspor stand accusated of deliberately throwing matches against eventual Super Lig champion Fenerbahce back in the 2010-11 season.
    With the ruling handed down on Sunday, Sivasspor and Eskisehirspor&#8217;s only hope of overturning the decision will be if they appeal the judgement to the Court of Arbitration for Sport within the next ten days.
    Should the ruling be held up, then next season&#8217;s Europa League will be short of two participants. Many are speculating that, in that event, the countries with the best UEFA coefficient ratings will be handed the open slots, and those leagues are the Premier League and La Liga.
    That could see Valencia and Manchester United be handed a shock inclusion to next year&#8217;s competition.
    Whether either club would be happy with that outcome is an entirely different matter.

    why do uefa not care about that attitude towards a comp?

    not singling out utd or Valencia before any muppet throws that at me, its the general feeling by all towards the comp, more hassle than its worth or more to the point financial rewards.

    could they not take some of the revenue out the cl and put it into this comp and generate more importance on this comp? may even help towards the ffp bollocks if not everyone is so desperate to get the revenue you can earn from being in the cl.

    The group stages make this competition so drawn out!

    IMO it would do it no harm to just scrap that and make it a knock-out competition right from the beginning - all names in one hate, you can draw anybody from the off - GO

    2 legs from last 16 to the final.

    Like how we have every other season for 20 years bar the last one <ok>

    Its everyone else who struggles playing in both europe and the league. We tend to do fine.

    I do wonder how the others will cope carrying the flag home and abroad now United are not there to do it. No doubt each side will prioritize one or the others as they always have.

    "Tend to" is like talking about history... and for another matter stop being sensible and talking about how uefa would actually do it... and finally utd haven't exactly done much is recent history to enthuse one about englands coefficient its chelsea who've carried the flag

    Hes a lot more than just hair you know. His elbows are legendary. Like a hurricane blitzing everything in its path. An elbow here, an elbow there. Rumour has it, the doctor who aided his birth lost 4 teeth.

    Not only that but in under 3 hours you can expect to make your 12million back. Sales of afro wigs will sky rocket.
