Apparently were interested in Borini too? Is newcastle's new strategy to sign sunderland players so they cant beat us in the derby any more?

Here's a crazy idea folks – couldn't we have just kept James Perch?

    ...

Better than Colback if not just as good.

Watching the 0-3, I disagree. We should have kept Perch and binned Gosling, though.

colback is miles better than Perch. He's also 4 years younger. I personally think that colback is a good player, he's going to get better too. Realize he was in a ****ty team. I think he'll do well here as long as the fans give him a chance.... and he actually does end up here lol!

Very few seem fussed from our side whether he joins or not. You'd have thought it would have generated more interest with him crossing the divide. Have to say, I think you need a few Perch's and Colbacks about the place. Both would be god to have in our squad. Versatility and tenacious.

Being honest I just wanted to use the word tenacious.

Colback ran the show for Sunderland at SJP last season. Seemed to be Sunderland's best player when I saw them.

pics on twitter pretty much confirm we have signed him. Not a bad signing for me.

There's also one of gomis in his full kit with Ashley and his chopper but not sure if that's real mind

Good to see a body in, but it's just an upgrade on Gosling. To my mind, we still haven't done anything meaningful or groundbreaking.

As far as I'm concerned he is a **** replacement for Cabaye until I'm happily proved wrong. I pray to God I am wrong.

He really is a Pardew type player - 0 talent. Has Pardew been let off his leash with us being linked to the likes of Sidwell

Can't disagree with this. If we bring in no De Jong, no Cabella, no Grenier or whatever, then this would represent come 1st Sept a shambolic bit of business. Fair enough rn the club self-sufficiently, but we should be breaking even every year, not posting profit. As we are not stock exchange listed, no-one at all benefits from the club profiting unless the owner demands the debt is paid off or is somehow looking for some pocket money. He insists he is doing neither, so we should be aiming to spend in the region of £40m this Summer, bare minimum.

Yep. He is a replacement for Gosling now maybe but two very unrealistic targets have been touted in Cabella and Grenier - neither of which we will get for the price their clubs want. Its all fine and good people touted this player and that player but we won't spend the required amount. I know it is early but rest assured if we can't one of those two players and by the time we give up on it, it will be probably be too late by then but then again that is probably what the club planned all along.

It's the high passing percentage combined with the lack of key passes which will frustrate you. Ball tends to go sideways or backwards.
