How does it always come down to the usual Hamilton tit-for-tat? Seriously.

Today was a great race with a new winner, Merc getting it all wrong, some great showing from RBR, FI and Williams, yet we're getting hung up on one of the smallest none events of the race.

Personally, yeah I'm bummed Hamlton suffered more gremlins, But it's a long season. I'm becoming more and more of a Ricciardo fan by the week though, He's really a breath of fresh air. I just hope F1 doesn't sour him like it does so many. He seems like a top bloke!

Forget Hamilton this week... This one's Ricciardo's!!!

Julius, I usually give my views and ask question, but I don't call people's opinion stupid because they differ from mine. We have our opinions and we should respect that without being insulting. And yes I told off Hans because he seems to enjoy cussing and insulting people... He has a record of doing that here.

He was only a great racer if the car and situation was right, otherwise he was just a big fat crybaby with idiotic facial hair.

I could feel the Ricciardo victory coming after Rosberg pitted. After a few laps of Perez being too slow in the first two sectors i was rooting for him to get out of Daniels way.

Until the final 6 laps, i actually though Massa would win. Surprised he couldn't clear Vettel, especially with the straight line speed advantage

You sir, are talking out of your bottom! He could grab a car by the scruff of the neck and drag it kicking and screaming to the end. I'd love another Mansell to show up.... Then again, I'd love all the drivers from that era back... Other than Piquet, because he was just a butt hole.

Things just wont fall into place for poor Williams will they? No way they should be behind Force India and McLaren in the championship.

Massa should have been clearing cars left and right. He totally ballsed it behind Vettel.

Yeah, it's an overtaking move, not the bloody Spanish inquisition.

No idea what you mean, but he never tried an inside move on Vettel.

Seems harsh, they must have felt that he changed his line going into the corner. Would like to see that again to see if the punishment is warranted.

Good call. He drifted back in front of Massa, showing a lack of spacial awareness

Perez was going straight, I remember seeing his steering wheel, but because this is Perez he gets ridiculous penalties. This is almost as bad as when Kimi tried to overtake him while Perez was pitting in Monaco a few years ago.
I swear it's the name that gets penalised and it's nothing to do with the offense.

I'm a bit surprised at that. I couldn't tell what was going on.

Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition, whereas everyone expects Massa to choke when it comes to overtaking.

Well, another fabulous Canadian Grand Prix!…
    :)
It's not often one can say such a thing when a race ends under the Safety Car but this race had all kinds of drama.

Most importantly, I'm very pleased to learn that Perez and Massa seem to have come through that horrendous incident relatively unscathed, and mightily pleased that Vettel was lucky not to have been collected. I think the outcome could have been much worse if he'd been added to bits of car and flying debris there. Indeed, Lady Luck seemed determined to play a big for many today, for better or worse…

However, this does not detract from Ricciardo's superb achievement, or from Rosberg's masterclass in how to maximise advantage during adversity. The two of them are jointly my 'drivers of the day'.

Hamilton was the first (by roughly a minute) Mercedes driver to experience trouble, but in my experience such synchronised timing of mechanical hiccups for both team mates are highly unusual in any form of motor sport. Hamilton's problems ultimately led to brake failure – which robbed us of what could have been a titanic battle towards the end* – but Rosberg was able to hang on for (lots of) vital points with what he'd got left. Full credit to him.

All in all, another Grand Prix which should be archived as a classic.

*For what it's worth – and if reliability had not intervened – my belief is that Hamilton probably had enough of an edge over Rosberg to win.
