He was but flooring it through the run-off and setting a fastest lap certainly didn't help his cause.
And that's why the Canadian Grand prix is my personal favourite. That was everything that was promised of 2014. We may not see its like again. Delighted for Ricciardo. Still need to know how Jenson managed to pass both Alonso and Hulk in one lap.
I think everyone should want Nico to win the title now, just to see how Sky react to it. If they're trying to discredit his last 2 results, then i'd love to see them try and discredit an entire season...
Oh they would manage that somehow. Already doing it for today and have done for Oz/Monaco and Canada.
+1 Fantastic stuff! And that was my whole point as to why homogilation and stopping engine development has destroyed some amazing racing potential. It is so close in behind the dominant Mercedes team and their brilliantly designed turbo- we just don't get enough of it! I didn't want the race to end!
The rules speak about unfair advantage ...Hamilton was on his tail pressuring him and he took the short route....what if say red bull had done that? You see? Rules should be rules. Regardless of which driver or team.
Drivers go across that chicane all the time. Should he have gone in the wall instead? You can't give them a penalty for doing it once when they didn't gain a position from it.
He didn't gain a position but he DID gain the advantage by opening out a bigger lead and setting the fastest lap. If he'd gone through to avoid a collision, fine but he floored it through there.
So it's ok to go through there to get a few tenths on the driver who is pressuring you right? Unfair advantage is what it says.
For crying out loud, why can't you go 5 seconds without making everything about Hamilton. So much happened in this race but yet for a select few it's all about Hamilton, blarghhhhhhhhhh
He started it by complaining about Rosberg doing nothing illegal. If i see some deluded windbag having a whine, i'm well within my rights to whine back. Deal with it.
He's not allowed an opinion because he's a Hamilton fan? Personally, I think the action that the stewards took was spot on. Rosberg possibly did push his luck a bit, but F1 would be bloody dull if we start punishing small errors like that. It would just ruin racing further. Only punish if a driver is constantly doing something like that.
He ****ed his braking up, that's hardly going through there on purpose, he did it because he wouldn't have made the corner anyway. If you're leading your notoriously stroppy teammate, why take a risk that gives him a chance to bitch to the FIA? Are you Johnny Herbert or something?
It's not a fair opinion though, it's just a cheap shot at Rosberg, who made a genuine error, and as usual, the same old posters are claiming that "Oh, he cheated, he should be hung drawn and quartered"
Yes Rosberg gained a little bit, hence he received a warning. Which is the same punishment anyone would have got for cutting the chicane. Honestly you must be the blindest Hamilton fan in the world if you think there is a case for a penalty. Dry your tears and consider if the situation was reversed.
